Job Description

It is important to plan patent strategy and execute such patent strategy for exclusively commercializing Santen products by blocking competitive products. For this purpose, patent applications are filed and prosecuted in relevant countries while they need to be administered appropriately and patent searches are conducted to avoid patent risks.

• Acquisition of patent rights

Job of this position is to plan global patent strategy for maximizing the value of Santen products and file and prosecute patent applications and acquire patent rights. In addition, job of this position is to search the patentability for research and development results in order to acquire patent rights.

• Risk avoidance of patent rights

Job of this position is to conduct Freedom To Operate (FTO) search and formulate measures for avoiding patent risk in Santen business.

• Information sharing

Job of this position is to collect information related to patents and share to internal customers to help them plan business/R&D strategy.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IP/Legal sufficient to discuss external patent counsels

More than three years experience as patent practitioner or equivalent experience/knowledge

• Experience of patent prosecution, search and/or dispute

More than three years experience as patent practitioner or equivalent experience/knowledge

• Experience and knowledge of research/science

More than five years experience as researcher or equivalent experience/knowledge

• Language skills sufficient to communicate with Santen affiliates’ colleagues, external business partners and external patent counsels in English

More than 600 points of TOEIC tests score
