Sustainability Office, Director

As the Director of the Sustainability Office, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance the environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance of our company. You will work closely with various stakeholders internally and externally, to identify opportunities and challenges for improving our sustainability practices and reporting. You will also communicate our sustainability achievements and initiatives to internal and external audiences, such as the board, the Executive Leadership Team, investors, customers and media.

• Develop and execute sustainability target/goals and initiatives that align with our purpose.


• Monitor and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of our sustainability initiatives and report on the progress and outcomes.


• Conduct research and analysis on the latest trends and best practices in sustainability and ESG.


• Prepare and update sustainability reports and disclosures in accordance with relevant standards and frameworks, such as GRI, SASB, TCFD and CSRD.


• Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as the production team, sales team and various other teams at Renesas, and investors, customers and media, to promote our sustainability vision and performance.


• Manage and improve our ESG rating and score from external ESG rating agencies(FTSE, MSCI, DJSI, Sustainalytics, CDP etc.) and other ESG platforms (EcoVadis, Supplier Assurance etc.) .


• Conduct research and analysis on the latest trends and best practices in sustainability and ESG.


• Lead and manage the members of the Sustainability Office and help them grow and develop their skills and competencies.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in sustainability management, consulting, reporting or communication.


• Strong knowledge and understanding of sustainability and ESG concepts, standards and frameworks.


• Excellent project management, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.


• Outstanding communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


• Fluency in English or Japanese
