- DNV Renewables Certification has the global responsibility for Type Certification (TC), Component Certification (CC) and Project Certification (PC) for Renewables within DNV. Currently RC consists of 200+ experts with locations in Beijing, Boston, Copenhagen, Dresden, Hamburg, London, Seoul, Shanghai and Taipei.
- RC is the global market leader in Renewables Certification and work with the leading OEM’s in the TC wind market in addition to being involved in more than 80% of Project Certification for fixed and floating offshore wind farms and offshore substations in the world.
- For the Project Certification APAC department, we are currently looking for a technical project manager and structural engineer with a strong profile and keen interest in working with renewable energy. The position is based in our office in Yokohama.
- Project Certification delivers services related to certification and verification primarily for Offshore Wind Farms, transformer stations and onshore support structures for Wind turbines as well as services including wave and tidal and other novel technologies via technology qualification as well as onshore towers. Activities cover all steps in the certification process from review of early designs to design verification, fabrication surveillance, commissioning and periodic inspection of installations in operation as well as project management.
- Our team and the wider renewables certification have extensive experience with offshore projects and have worked with 80% of global offshore wind projects to date. We have an informal and humorous tone among us combined with a professional and international working environment. The candidates joining the team will be provided with excellent support to improve their technical knowledge, project management skills and understanding of onshore and offshore projects.
- As a project manager and structural engineer for certification projects, you will coordinate the technical work of a multidisciplinary team engaged in different disciplines in close collaboration with their line managers and be involved in design verification activities in close collaboration with DNV’s extensive global network. You will also be the main point of contact for our clients and responsible for the preparation of our deliverables within the expected timeline, budget and quality. For new requests, you will also be engaged as a bid manager or part of the bid team to prepare the proposal.

Position Qualifications:
Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate some of the competences below:
- Engineering degree in civil, structural or marine engineering, architecture or equivalent, preferably from a Japanese university
- Knowledge of relevant Japanese and international codes and offshore standards
- 2+ years of working experience from similar positions
- Experience with structural design of offshore structures including fatigue
- Project management experience, understanding technical interfaces, project finance management
- Experience with proposal preparation
- Experience with manufacturing and offshore installation surveillance
