Key Accountabilities
- Support the Director of Spa & Wellness and assume leadership responsibilities in their absence, ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the Spa, Fitness, and Wellness facilities.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Spa & Wellness department, ensuring exceptional service delivery, operational efficiency, and adherence to established standards and procedures.
- Create memorable luxury guest experiences by anticipating guest needs, resolving concerns professionally, and ensuring effective service recovery when required.
- Drive commercial and financial performance through revenue generation initiatives, retail sales growth, productivity management, cost control, and achievement of budgeted targets.
- Lead, coach, motivate, and develop team members through ongoing training, performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Peninsula Service Principles, Peninsula Guest Engagement standards, brand standards, health and safety requirements, and all quality assurance procedures.
- Monitor guest feedback, operational performance, and market trends, implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction and business results.
- Work collaboratively with other hotel departments to deliver a seamless guest experience and support the overall success of the hotel operation.upport the Director of Spa & Wellness and act on their behalf when required.
General Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a luxury spa and wellness environment, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role within a Forbes Five-Star or equivalent luxury hospitality setting.
- Strong understanding of luxury spa operations, including treatment standards, therapist productivity, guest consultations, retail performance, and overall wellness operations.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, fitness professionals, spa concierge, and wellness colleagues.
- Excellent guest engagement, service recovery, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with fluency in both English and Japanese.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen; degree or diploma in Hospitality, Spa, Wellness, Business Management, or a related field preferred. Additional wellness, fitness, holistic therapy, or leadership certifications are an advantage.
