As a business partner facing role, the Business Analyst participates in strategic planning,
business planning and analysis, needs analysis and business risk assessment and consults
with business partners to shape demand and determine how to best support the business
through the effective use of Data Science and Data Analytics technology in compliance with
J&J IT standards and policies. And also, this role lead and deliver the solution via co-working
with cross functional team. This role interface with and manage strategic relationships with
Janssen Japan Sales & Marketing partners by representing and promoting I/T capabilities.
The role requires active engagement and partnership with a variety of organizations within
Johnson and Johnson including Janssen Business Technology Commercial, IT Technology
Services, IT Compliance, Janssen Commercial Business to drive successful Janssen Data and
Insights programs. Thus, Strong interdependent partnering skills are required to collaborate
with many stakeholders, and to deliver a business value
Responsibilities

• Leads business requirement and process design sessions to help translate business

• Designs technical solutions, including system integrations, in partnership with
other sub-functions in IT.
• Forms productive networks with internal and external business partners and the
vendor community, and manages expectations proactively by listening, clarifying,
and responding effectively to questions and problems.
• Leads a team involved in vendor selection and vendor management by analyzing
vendor proposals and producing required documentation (e.g., project plans, RFPs,
RFIs, scorecards).
• Leads and fosters knowledge sharing among the team.
• Contributes to the creation of and coordinates the execution of functional user
acceptance test plans.
• Commits to deliverables with business partners and/or management and manages
business solutions resources and supplier partners.
• Provides direct input to budget and resource planning.
• Optimizes a technology portfolio by identifying new ways to provide value to the
business (e.g., retirements, upgrades, leveraging opportunities, functionality
extensions).
Decision-Making:
• Independently troubleshoots more complex problems and suggests effective
resolutions.
Propose/selects tools and methodologies for projects, following compliance and
company guidelines.
• Leads the assessment of the technical and economic feasibility of proposed
solutions and provides appropriate recommendations based on industry trends,
internal benchmarking, and vendor relationships.
• Balances between IT standards and strategies and business need to guide well informed decisions.
• Applies compliance requirements within scope of responsibility, provides
documentation as necessary, and participates in compliance activities as required.
Technical Expertise:
• Advanced understanding of Data management, Data analytics and Data Science
platform.
• Builds and maintains up-to-date knowledge about DM, DA and DS strategies and
industry trends.
• Understanding of J&J IT's technology standards and strategies (to be acquired if
outside candidate).
• Understanding of lifecycle management and applies compliance requirements
within scope of responsibility, provides documentation as necessary and
participates in compliance activities as required.
• Cultural awareness across multi-market region complexity.
• Provides advanced expertise in their area of responsibility through team leadership
and business partnership.
• Acts as a key resource on larger projects and serves as a consultant with cross functional team members (e.g. internal and external).
• Seeks new technologies to proactively improve work processes.

understanding of the technical architecture and the underlying drivers of the
business.
Qualifications
Typical candidates will possess 5 years of relevant experience and BA/BS degree
or equivalent OR 4 years with an advanced degree or equivalent.
• Candidates must have at least 3 years of D&A experience in B to B market.
• Bachelor of Computer Science / Information Technology or any relevant Business,
Engineering degree is preferable.
• 3 years of Project Management Experience is highly desirable, preferably have an
experience of middle-sized commercial projects (member 10 ).
• Some knowledge of healthcare commercial process. Experience in other industries
is a plus.
• Knowledge /Experience working with Data Storage & Modeling (AWS S3, Redshift),
Data Processing Tools (Talend/Airflow), and Visualization (Tableau) would be a
plus.
• Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical teams.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to operate independently, multi-task, and prioritize tasks appropriately.
• Knowledge of pharma regulatory environment, PMD Act, HCC and Privacy policy.
• Actively promote D&A solutions to businesses aligned with Data Science and Data
Management strategy.
• Native-level Japanese and Business Level English skills are highly required.
