We are looking for a Business Development Representative based in Japan to help identify and connect with Japanese brands and manufacturers that want to expand into the U.S. market.


Role Description

Twin Two is seeking a Japan-based Business Development Representative to find, contact, and develop relationships with potential Japanese clients who want to sell their products in the United States.

This person will be responsible for researching Japanese companies, identifying brands with strong U.S. market potential, conducting outreach, setting meetings, explaining Twin Two’s services, and helping build a pipeline of qualified business opportunities.

The ideal candidate is proactive, professional, organized, and comfortable speaking with business owners, executives, manufacturers, and brand representatives in Japan. This role requires strong Japanese communication skills, business-level English, and an understanding of how Japanese companies evaluate international expansion opportunities.


Responsibilities

  • Identify Japanese brands, manufacturers, distributors, and product companies that may want to expand into the U.S. market
  • Research target companies across categories such as consumer electronics, home goods, beauty, food, fashion, lifestyle products, toys, accessories, and other retail categories
  • Build lists of qualified leads with company names, contacts, emails, phone numbers, websites, product categories, and opportunity notes
  • Contact potential clients by email, LinkedIn, phone, and other outreach methods
  • Introduce Twin Two’s U.S. marketplace and e-commerce services to potential clients
  • Schedule introductory calls and meetings with qualified prospects
  • Communicate professionally with Japanese companies and explain how Twin Two can help them sell in the U.S.
  • Track outreach activity, follow-ups, meeting notes, and sales opportunities in a CRM or organized spreadsheet
  • Follow up with prospects consistently and help move opportunities through the sales pipeline
  • Help prepare basic sales materials, company summaries, and client presentations when needed
  • Coordinate with Twin Two leadership on qualified leads, client needs, and next steps
  • Provide market feedback on Japanese companies, product categories, and expansion opportunities
  • Support business development activities, partnerships, trade show outreach, and other growth initiatives as needed

Requirements

Qualifications
Based in Japan or deeply familiar with the Japanese business market
Fluent in Japanese, both written and spoken
Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken
Previous experience in business development, sales, lead generation, partnerships, account management, or international trade
Comfortable contacting companies, speaking with decision-makers, and setting meetings
Strong understanding of Japanese business communication and professional etiquette
Ability to research companies, identify opportunities, and organize prospect lists
Strong follow-up skills and ability to manage a pipeline of potential clients
Comfortable using email, LinkedIn, spreadsheets, CRM tools, Zoom, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office
Professional, reliable, organized, and self-motivated
Ability to work independently and provide regular updates on outreach activity and progress
Interest in retail, e-commerce, marketplaces, consumer products, or international business
Preferred Experience

Experience helping Japanese companies expand internationally
Experience with U.S. e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Shopify, or other marketplaces
Experience working with manufacturers, brands, trading companies, distributors, or export businesses
Existing network of Japanese brands, manufacturers, or business owners
Experience attending or prospecting through Japanese trade shows, industry events, or business associations
Experience creating sales reports, lead trackers, or business development pipelines
Understanding of U.S. retail, marketplace, or consumer product opportunities
