We are looking for a solution consultant to join our Life Science & Healthcare solution consulting team in Tokyo. We are a team of product experts and is responsible for growing revenue from both existing and new customers, by deeply understanding customer needs, effectively presenting the value of the solution, enhancing customer relationship to improve customer satisfaction, and contributing to product development and consulting services engagements.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Either 5+ years of work experience in pharmaceuticals/medical devices industry or educational backgrounds in life science field (biology, chemistry, pharmaceutical science, etc.).

  • Good interpersonal communication skills and ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience in building and maintaining good relationships with customers.

  • Proficient presentation skills in Japanese.

  • Written and verbal communication skills in Japanese (native level) and English (business level).

  • Intermediate skills for Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Initiative-taking and able to plan, prioritize and take actions with a complex schedule of activities and events.

It would be great if you also had . . .

  • University degree in biology or chemistry is a plus. Work experience as a biologist or a chemist in pharmaceutical industry is a strong plus.

  • Work experiences in the early R&D stages of human/veterinary drugs, foods etc. are highly desired.

  • Good track records in a customer-facing role such as sales, marketing, or customer education etc.

  • Work experience at professional service agencies (consulting firm etc.).

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Achieve sales revenue target of Life Science & Healthcare division in cooperation with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success.

  • Deeply understand customer business, needs and workflow through various channels such as direct communication with customers, industry news, industry conference, etc.

  • As a product expert, acquire in-depth knowledge about Life Science & Healthcare solutions and keep the knowledge up to date.

  • Work closely with sales team to find new business opportunities and proactively provide support for them to close deals by identifying customer needs and offering best solutions.

  • Co-visit customers with sales (on-site or online meeting) to discuss customer needs and solutions.

  • Most of our clients are pharma/medical device companies and you will meet with customers from various department such as R&D, clinical development, medical affairs, business development, marketing, regulatory, market access etc. to discuss their needs and appropriate solutions.

  • Plan and execute product promotion plan for a targeted customer segment to create new business leads.

  • Provide post-sales support for clients through advice, trainings, and webinars etc. to answer their business questions.
