As a member of the Installation Logistics team, you will define technical, logistical and commercial solutions for Construction and Installation of Offshore Wind Projects. Our Team is supporting projects during the whole life cycle: covering the early development phase to project execution and operation. Your role will primarily be focused on development projects but some involvement in execution projects can also be expected.

Your future plans

  • Project-orientated work with assumption of technical responsibility for a specialist area; project management function with advice on specific and special issues in the specialist area
  • Coordinating and driving the development of the Offshore Wind Project Transport & Installation Concepts across all installation packages (Foundations, Turbines, Cables) in an open and transparent way
  • You will be working closely together with your colleagues from Foundation-, Cable-and Turbine installation disciplines as well as Vessel and Port experts to develop a project specific Transport and Installation concept
  • You will be responsible for providing input to the project construction programme, setting-up adverse weather calculations and cost estimates
  • Preparation of tender documents including specifications, evaluation of bids and conducting contract negotiations with suppliers
  • Within our Team you will contribute to not just working with existing technologies, but being eager to identify and assess innovations and new technologies for our future projects; additionally you’ll be working on ensuring the strategy fits with the portfolio of RWE’s future Offshore Wind Projects
  • Work on budgetary proposal processes with domestic and international offshore construction companies
  • Support the supply chain team with preparation of contracts and vessel charter with offshore construction companies
  • Work on interface management to authorities and governmental bodies
  • Identifying lessons learnt and developing and coordinating the implementation of improvement proposals

Your profile

  • A positive mindset with self-motivation and resilience, a flexible and creative approach to find solutions.
  • Degree or equivalent in Naval Architecture, Civil Engineering, Marine Logistics or related areas.
  • Technical understanding with the ability to resolve detailed issues and to convey complex technical matters and risk costing coherently.
  • Ability to quantify risks and impact on budget.
  • Intercultural communication skills
  • Ability and interest to work offshore and at heights from time to time
  • Fluent spoken and written in English and Japanese

Desirable skills:

  • Ideally, experience in Offshore Wind Transport and Installation of Foundations, Turbines and Cables. Knowledge about Offshore Installation Vessels, Installation Methodologies and Tools would be beneficial. If no Offshore Wind experience, other Industries’ experience e.g. Oil & Gas, shipping companies is beneficial as well.
