Description

Zenity is the leader in AI Agent Security, helping enterprises secure and govern AI agents across their environments. Backed by M12 and other leading investors, Zenity is building the category for secure enterprise adoption of AI-powered workflows and automation.

As we continue to grow globally, Japan is an important strategic market for us. We are looking for a senior customer success leader in Japan who can partner closely with enterprise customers, represent Zenity with credibility, and help shape how we build long-term customer success in the region.

The Role

We are hiring a Country Manager for Japan who will own all commercial outcomes in the region. This is a player-coach role: in the near term, you will carry a quota and close enterprise business directly. Over time, you will hire and lead a team, build out the partner ecosystem, and shape how Zenity grows in Japan for the long term.

You will report directly to the CRO and operate with significant autonomy. This is not a role that comes with a full playbook. You will need to build one.

Why This Role Matters

Japan is a strategic priority for Zenity. We have existing customer relationships and established partnerships in market the foundation is in place. What we do not yet have is the local leadership to build on it.

This is a rare opportunity: come into a market where the work has started, own it fully, and build it into something significant. The person in this role will be Zenity's first dedicated leader in Japan, responsible for translating early traction into a scaled, sustainable go-to-market motion.

What You’ll Do

Revenue & Pipeline

  • • Own the Japan revenue number — carry quota and close enterprise deals directly in the near term
  • • Build and manage a healthy pipeline through direct outreach, partner channels, and existing customer expansion
  • • Work closely with marketing and global GTM to localize demand generation efforts for the Japanese market

Customer & Partner Relationships

  • • Take ownership of existing customer relationships and ensure strong onboarding, adoption, and retention
  • • Deepen and expand Zenity's established partner and channel relationships in Japan
  • • Serve as Zenity's senior commercial voice in the region — credible with both technical stakeholders and executive buyers

Team & Market Building

  • • Hire and build the Japan GTM team over time, including sales, customer success, and supporting functions as the business scales
  • • Define the go-to-market approach for Japan, including segmentation, territory coverage, and partner strategy
  • • Represent Japan's market needs internally — feed insights back to product, engineering, and global leadership

Operations & Reporting

  • Own forecast accuracy and pipeline hygiene for the Japan business
  • Build the operational infrastructure needed to support a growing team and customer base
  • Work closely with Zenity's global leadership on planning, resourcing, and strategy

What We Look For At Zenity

We are looking for a commercially driven leader who has built and scaled enterprise sales in Japan — ideally in cybersecurity, enterprise SaaS, or a related technical market. You know how enterprise buying works in Japan, how to build trust with large organizations over time, and how to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.

• Significant experience in enterprise sales leadership or country management in Japan

• Proven track record of closing large, complex enterprise deals with Fortune 500 or equivalent Japanese organizations

• Experience building from scratch and scaling a GTM function from the ground up — you have done this before, or have been a key part of a team that has

• Deep familiarity with the Japanese enterprise landscape, buying culture, and stakeholder dynamics

• Experience in or strong understanding of cybersecurity, cloud security, enterprise software, or AI-driven products

• Strong partner and channel relationships in Japan — you know who to call and they know you

• Business-level Japanese and strong English communication skills — you will work closely with Zenity's global leadership team

• Comfortable operating in an early-stage, high-growth environment where structure is still being built

Particularly Relevant Backgrounds

This role may be especially well suited to candidates who have:

• Led Japan market entry or early-stage country operations for an international technology company

• Carried a quota as an individual contributor while simultaneously building out a regional team

• Sold into security, infrastructure, or governance personas at large Japanese enterprises

• Built or scaled a partner and channel motion in Japan as part of a broader GTM strategy

• Operated as the senior commercial leader in a region with significant autonomy and direct executive visibility

What Will Make Someone Successful in This Role

The most successful person in this role will be someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves with urgency, and can operate as both a seller and a leader simultaneously. You will need to be able to close deals, build relationships, hire well, and think strategically — often in the same week.

You will combine:

• A strong commercial instinct and a track record of hitting and exceeding revenue targets

• The patience and credibility to build long-term trust with Japanese enterprise customers

• The judgment to build a team and a market the right way, not just the fast way

• A builder's mentality — you are energized by creating structure where little exists

• Close partnership with Zenity's global leadership, with the ability to translate market needs into clear internal action

Working Model

This role is based in Tokyo and works closely with Zenity's global team across sales, customer success, product, and leadership. You will have significant autonomy to drive the Japan strategy, with direct access to and support from the CRO.

Employment Structure & Benefits:

  • Reporting: This role will report directly to the CRO
  • Local Employment: Hiring will be facilitated through a local Employer of Record (EOR), ensuring full compliance with Japanese labor laws, including health insurance (Kenko Hoken), pension (Kosei Nenkin), and unemployment insurance.
  • Commuting & Workspace: Full reimbursement for commuting costs and access to a premium co-working space in Tokyo to facilitate a professional working environment.
  • Tools: Provision of high-end hardware and necessary software for remote/hybrid collaboration.
  • Compensation: As our first technical hire in Japan, you are a critical pillar of our global growth. We offer top-of-market compensation designed to attract the industry's best talent, ensuring that your package reflects both your technical seniority and the strategic importance of the Japanese market to Zenity’s mission.

Why Join Zenity

Zenity is building in one of the most consequential areas in enterprise software today: secure adoption of AI. Japan is a market we are serious about, and this role is central to that commitment.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to:

• Own a market and build something meaningful from the ground up

• Work directly with global leadership with real influence over strategy and direction

• Be part of a company with strong momentum in a category that is only growing in importance

• Shape how an emerging, critical technology category is established across one of the world's most important enterprise markets
