WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist who excels in the realms of Advanced Analytics and Business Intelligence.You are someone who is not only passionate about turning complex data into actionable insights but also can use these insights to achieve business growth. You have experience solving complex business problems through various advanced analytics and AI techniques and deliver the service to stakeholders using BI tools. You're able to engage in hands-on data tasks while simultaneously demonstrating abilities in project leadership.You'll report to the head of Data Science & Advanced Research and come to the office up to 3 days/week as hybrid work to attend meetings with partners and the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advanced Analysis & Modeling: Develop and implement statistical analytics, data mining algorithms, and ML/AI models, to analyze large datasets and deliver insights and predictions that inform actionable strategic decisions
- Business Intelligence Development: Lead the design and development of BI services. The solution should quantify both the health of the business and improvement opportunities.
- Human-Centered Text & Psychometric Analysis: Reveal hidden user insight from unstructured text data using techniques such as NLP, text mining, sentiment analysis, LLM, psychometric analysis, etc.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Provide mentorship and leadership, guiding the team through manageable and actionable project detailed planning and execution, ensuring clear communication and collaboration for successful outcomes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in a human-centered data science area or a related field, and 2+ years of project leadership & management experience
- 3+ years of experience managing the development of BI/dashboarding solutions to provide accurate data insight based on multiple business needs
- Experience in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Metabase, Looker, Oracle BI, or similar
- Expertise in data analysis using SQL, Python, R, or similar programming languages
- Experience translating complex technical concepts to non-technical partners (e.g. head of HR, head of L&D, and senior leaders in the engineering field) with clear data visualization support
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, BI, QuantitativeAnalytics, Econometric, Biostatistics or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in the Education Technology or HR technology industry
- Fluent in Japanese and English
