Description
* Design, deploy, manage, and optimize large-scale Elasticsearch clusters in production environments.
* Ensure the performance, scalability, security, and high availability of Elasticsearch infrastructure.
* Manage highly available MySQL clusters running on Kubernetes and containerized platforms.
* Develop and maintain backup, recovery, monitoring, and capacity planning strategies for database environments.
* Automate database deployment, scaling, and operational tasks using scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
* Implement best practices for running stateful workloads on Kubernetes.
* Monitor system health using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, and related observability platforms.
* Troubleshoot complex database incidents and perform root cause analysis.
* Lead database lifecycle management and continuous infrastructure improvements.
* Collaborate with development, SRE, and infrastructure teams to support application reliability and performance.
* Mentor junior engineers, provide technical leadership, and promote engineering best practices.
* Participate in on-call support for critical production database systems.
Profile
* 8+ years of experience as a Database Engineer or Data Infrastructure Engineer.
* Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience designing and operating large-scale Elasticsearch clusters.
* Strong knowledge of Elasticsearch architecture, indexing, sharding, replication, performance tuning, security, and monitoring.
* Solid experience administering MySQL in high-availability production environments.
* Experience deploying and managing databases on Kubernetes and Docker-based platforms.
* Proficiency in automation using Python and/or Bash.
* Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
* Strong understanding of database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
* Experience with monitoring and observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, or Splunk.
* Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform is advantageous.
* Experience with additional NoSQL technologies such as Couchbase is a plus.
* Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
