Location: Carrapateena, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off
Reporting to: Superintendent – Mine Projects
Employment Type: Permanent

The Role

The Senior Engineer – Mine Projects is responsible for;

• Management of contractors (including Raisebore and Civil Works) ensuring that they are operating in accordance with site safety standards, work schedules and quality expectations.
• Initiation, planning, execution, cost management and closure of UG Infrastructure and Operational Technology projects, including but not limited to; Ventilation on Demand, Orepass Grizzly Construction, Mobilaris suite, Electronic Tagging, and Mine Services telemetry.
• Effective scheduling of project tasks and communication of scheduling interactions, priorities, milestones, risks & opportunities.
• Development of suitable Scope of Works documentation for detail design and implementation purposes and establishment of contracts with vendors.
• Review the designs received from Mid Term Planning Team, for implementation and operational considerations.
• Actively promote, seek out and participate in a drive for continuous improvement. Review any innovations and as applicable apply them to the project to increase productivity, reduce cost and increase profitability.
• Work closely with the overall Mining Operations team, including underground contractors and to ensure timely delivery of underground mechanical, civil and electrical infrastructure projects.

About You:

Ideally you will have:

• Extensive underground mining experience.
• Project management experience.
• Problem solving and can-do attitude.
• Education and qualification in mining engineering or equivalent.
• Manual drivers’ licence.
• Sound understanding of interactions between mining and other site functions such as projects, construction, maintenance, and processing.
• Exposure to mine raiseboring. (preferable)
• Exposure to Sub Level Cave or Block Cave mining operations. (preferable)
• Proficiency Deswik Suite (Cad, IS, Sched).
• Proven capability to lead with a proactive, results-oriented and solution focused approach.
