External Manufacturing Manager (Tokyo, Japan)

The Position

As our external manufacturing manager, you will be managing finished goods production at subcontracting toll manufacturers in Japan; ensure reliable, stable, effective and efficient production to meet customer requirement; act as the representative of Envalior manufacturing to our toll manufacturer at the same time achieve continuous improvement on production together with them.

Key Responsibilities

Toll Manufacturing Management

· Take lead in the review of Quality Assurance Agreement with toll manufacturer, discussion with toller to implement the changes and release updated version.

· Define and drive productivity improvement in manufacturing category together with toll manufacturers and other functions in Envalior

· Lead and chair regular Quality/Tech. meetings with toll manufacturers.

· Troubleshoot manufacturing issue together with Quality team, TPM, R&T and Toll manufacturers.

· Make response to inquiry from customers with regards to CSR, Sustainability, BCP, QMS & EMS, 4M changes and else.

Manufacturing/Process Engineer

· Create/Change and release Process Order as manufacturing conditions to toll manufacturers. For some tollers, keep its record of tollers acknowledgement.

· Create/Change and release Work request to toll manufacturers to manage irregular work e.g. rework, repack, additional drying.

· Release Trial request to toll manufacturers for evaluation and scale up trials as a part of APQP process.

· Create/Change and release Production Trial request for irregular trial on production grades e.g. production with different packaging material to consume long aging inventory.

· Monitor Cpk and make proposal to change internal manufacturing specification and submit it to Quality Manager and Technical Product Manager for their review

· Receive and take lead MoC (Management of Change) internally on 4M change request from toll manufacturers or raw material suppliers.

· Manage Initial Production of new/modified grade release and report its production capability

Requirements

  • A Bachelor or above degree, preferably in chemical or polymer science
  • 8 to 10 years working experience in an multi-national company
  • Highly developed communication skills with external networking and internal stakeholders
  • Courage to lead and take initiative to archive targets.
  • Fluent in English language skills, other languages are good to have.
