About you and this role:

MobilityScience: The transportation industry is transforming rapidly, propelled by vehicle electrification and automation, evolving use preferences, and an ever-increasing need for sustainable value chains and products. Dow currently sells $3.6B into Mobility & Transportation market segment with a goal of growing to $6B by 2030 and an ambition to hit $10B — an aggressive target that will not be achieved by doing business as usual. To address this attractive market segment more effectively, Dow established the MobilityScience platform to provide a One-Dow face to the transportation industry.

We have an exciting opportunity for an key customer manager located in Japan.

You will report to the commercial vice president of MobilityScience and be responsible for developing OEM and Tier value chain relationships to enable step-change growth of the platform including building and executing a pipeline of external growth opportunities and innovation projects. You will partner with the business marketing directors, TS&D, R&D and product directors to align strategies that maximize Dow’s profitable growth and meet the needs of the transforming automotive industry. This role requires a strong business developer who has a growth mindset and the influencing skills to engage with senior leaders at large automotive OEMs, cell manufacturers and tiers.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement a one-Dow mobility value chain sales strategy, in coordination with cross business marketing, sales and technical teams, to deliver >$6B revenue by 2030
  • Establish a Global Key Account plan with full business and MS leadership engagement.
  • Map the value chain for the assigned OEMs, JVs, and tiers
  • Build a multi-generational plan of growth opportunities and drive execution of agreements with key customers throughout the value chain.
  • Leverage digital tools (CRM) as a way to more effectively manage global accounts and opportunity pipeline.
  • Engage the customers at the senior leader level and seek out executive sponsorship
  • Act as the customer focal point for new business development with targeted OEMs.
  • Effectively coordinate a cross business, application based sales approach with automotive customers
  • Sponsor the mobility business growth in the country/region and build a network of mobility members​
  • Lead the sales strategy for one of the MobilityScience platforms.
  • Promote Dow MobilityScience culture and be an ambassador.​

Qualifications :

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant working experience

Preferred Skills :

  • Demonstrated business acumen and sales experience with the ability to develop and evaluate business cases and financial models
  • A growth mindset and strong bias for action
  • Proven track record for managing large accounts and winning business
  • Analytical skills and project management discipline to be able to manage risk and prioritize opportunities effectively
  • Influencing and communications skills to align multiple stakeholders and engage external partners
  • Strong cultural acumen to be able to understand local nuances and relate to partners globally
