Job Description:

Accounting and closing accounts

  • Responsible for the company's daily accounting processes, including the recognition, measurement, and recording of income, expenses, assets, liabilities, equity, and receivables.
  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing, preparing closing plans, and completing related accounting entries, account checks, and balance reconciliation on time.
  • Regularly reconcile general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, bank accounts, securities business data, and related business system data, promptly investigate and address discrepancies.
  • Responsible for accounting and management of fixed assets, advance payments, accrued expenses, related-party transactions and payables, and other key accounts.
  • Organize and maintain accounting vouchers, contracts, invoices, and supporting documents to ensure accounting archives are complete and meet retention requirements.

Financial reporting and analysis

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and group submission reports to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timely submission.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and related disclosure materials, and assist in reviewing and adjusting financial statements.
  • Conduct analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts, explaining significant fluctuations, abnormal items, and budget execution discrepancies.
  • Provide management with the necessary financial data, operational analysis, and specialized financial information.

Regulatory, tax, and audit support

  • Submit regulatory capital, financial resources, and other financial data and supporting documents required for regulatory filings in accordance with local Japanese regulatory requirements.
  • Completed financial filing requirements from the Financial Services Agency (FSA), Japan Securities Dealers Association (JSDA), and other relevant organizations.
  • Cooperate with external audits, internal audits, tax declarations, and regulatory inspections, and promptly provide working papers, vouchers, explanations, and follow-up materials for rectification.
  • Pay attention to changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and regulatory requirements, assess their impact on accounting treatment and financial reporting, and provide implementation recommendations.

Internal controls and process optimization

  • Implement group accounting policies, financial systems, and authorization requirements to ensure all accounting treatments comply with established processes and control standards.
  • Participate in the establishment and optimization of financial processes, accounting subjects, report templates, and system controls to improve closing efficiency and data quality.
  • Identify risks or control gaps in daily accounting and reporting processes, propose improvement suggestions, and follow up on implementation.
  • Assist the business, operations, compliance, risk, and headquarters finance teams in handling cross-departmental financial matters.

Funding and other financial support

  • Assist with bank account management, cash flow monitoring, payment review, and fund balance verification.
  • Assist with budgeting, rolling forecasting, cost control, and financial resource monitoring.
  • Complete other financial accounting, reporting, and special tasks assigned by direct supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Over 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, or financial reporting, with preference given to those with experience in securities firms, investment banks, asset management companies, or other regulated financial institutions.
  • Familiar with general ledger accounting, financial closing, financial statement preparation, subject reconciliation, and financial analysis processes.
  • Ability to independently handle complex accounting matters, identify discrepancies, and drive problem-solving.
  • Understanding of Japan's accounting, tax, and financial regulatory environment, or the ability to quickly learn relevant requirements.
  • Experience coordinating with external auditors, tax advisors, and relevant internal departments.
  • Experience in securities business accounting, regulatory capital reporting, financial instruments accounting, or cross-border group statements is preferred.
  • Experience in establishing new financial institutions, launching accounting systems, building financial processes, or migrating data is preferred.
  • Experience working in Chinese-funded, Hong Kong-funded, or international financial institutions is preferred.
  • Candidates holding JICPA, CPA, US CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualifications are preferred.
  • Solid mastery of accounting standards, financial reporting, and basic internal control, with good numerical sensitivity.
  • Proficient in Excel and common financial systems, able to process and reconcile large-scale financial data.
  • Meticulous and rigorous work experience, strong sense of responsibility, time management skills, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong analytical judgment, problem-solving, written expression, and cross-departmental communication skills.
  • Able to adapt to streamlined teams and the setup phase, possessing independent execution skills and a sense of teamwork.
  • Possess a high level of professional ethics, confidentiality awareness, risk awareness, and compliance awareness.
  • Japanese must meet business communication and written proficiency levels, and be able to handle daily audits, tax matters, and communication with local professional agencies.
  • English proficiency must meet business communication and written presentation proficiency.
  • Candidates with Mandarin or Cantonese communication skills are preferred, able to collaborate smoothly with the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong headquarters.
  • Maintain close collaboration with regional headquarters/group finance teams, as well as local business, operations, compliance, risk, and external professional organizations in Japan.
