About the role:

As the General Manager for Japan, you will be responsible for overseeing and driving the overall business growth in Japan. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's strategic direction, managing key relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring the successful execution of Aspire's business expansion objectives in the Japanese market.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and implement the business strategy for Aspire in Japan, aligning it with the company's overall vision and goals.
  • Lead and manage a high-performing team, including direct sales and channel partnerships, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
  • Drive business development efforts to identify and secure strategic partnerships, clients, and opportunities to expand Aspire's market presence and customer base in Japan.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as product development, marketing, and customer support, compliance and legal to drive successful product launches, marketing campaigns, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
  • You will be responsible for bringing your strategic vision and innovative approach to build a high-performing team to support business operations and growth in Japan.
  • Collaborate with the global management team to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all local regulations and legal requirements.

Minimum qualifications

  • Fluent in Japanese and English
  • Proven track record of at least 10+ years in a Leadership role with FinTech, Payments or Financial Services industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of the Japanese market landscape, business practices, and customer needs.
  • Demonstrated success in driving business growth, expanding market share, and achieving revenue targets
  • Excellent leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing and diverse teams in Japan.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and develop effective business strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred qualifications

  • Candidates with FinTech, Payments or Financial Services industry experience will be prioritized.
  • Entrepreneurship background appreciated.
  • Used to work in a fast paced start-up environment
