About the position:

As the Senior HR Specialist, you will have responsibility for supporting professionals we engage on behalf of our customers throughout the region and assisting in the management of the back-end HR, accounting, and legal service providers that support the infrastructure of our international entities. You will solve complex issues that may arise in your country/market unit and will leverage your expertise to advise the business on improvements. You will be a very active role in delivering best in class Customer and Professional service and in driving GP’s goals and objectives.

What you can expect to do:

  • Support the onboarding of new hires in Japan/ Japan & South Korea market unit, including payroll setup and benefit enrollments as required
  • Managing questions related to payroll, expense reports and other HR functions for our global employees on behalf of our customers
  • Managing local accountants, benefits brokers, HR advisors and other partners in Japan/ Japan & South Korea market unit
  • Maintaining meticulous customer records in our online portal
  • Responding to customer queries and advising on benefits, international payroll queries and other customer matters that invariably arise for customers hiring internationally
  • Manage customer relationships in conjunction with members of the customer services team
  • Handle ongoing matters with existing customers by pulling in appropriate members of the team to resolve customer queries
  • Negotiating with potential new customers and existing customers expanding into Japan/ Japan & South Korea market unit
  • Provide senior level support to our customers through employment contract negotiations and delivering an exceptional experience while onboarding employees in various countries
  • Solve complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions
  • Work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
  • Act as a resource for colleagues from different departments
  • Possess depth and/or breadth of expertise in own specialized area and general knowledge of related areas
  • Identify internal/external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services
  • Can lead teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity
  • Lead othersin solvingcomplex problems; uses analytical thinking, tools and judgement to identify innovative solutions
  • Have an active impact in the achievement of customer, operational, project or service objectives
  • Can communicate complex concepts; anticipates potential objections and influences peers and/or more senior staff to adopt a different point of view
  • Managing all HR related administrative tasks
  • Required to visit an office located in Toranomon, Tokyo twice a week to manage physical mails and insurance cards. Commuting fees are included in base salary.

What we are looking for:

  • More than 8 years of Human Resources experience
  • Excellent written and spoken language skills (English and Japanese language)
  • Familiarity with employment legislation in Japan
