Sr. Machine Learning Engineer

Sagri, founded in 2018, is an agri-tech start-up, solving issues in agriculture and climate change. Sagri has technological superiority in satellite data-based farmland demarcation and soil analysis, which are the basis for the creation of carbon credits from farmland. We are conducting demonstrations and operations in India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Kenya, Tanzania, Brazil, and Peru.

The Role

In this role, you will join the pioneer development team of Sagri in Japan and will report to the CTO. You will be responsible for:

• Conducting research, developing, and implementing machine learning systems for recommendation systems.
• Identifying the most effective algorithms and refining models to achieve peak performance.
• Assessing and analyzing the efficacy of models, recommending enhancements as needed.
• Integrating machine learning models into production.
• Staying updated with industry knowledge on cutting-edge ML technologies and practices.
• Leading and managing crucial stages of the machine learning project lifecycle.

Ideal Profile

• You possess a Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and have at least 5 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Data Scientist with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• You have experience with Machine learning and statistics at scale, with the ability to apply these skills to new domains such as satellite-based remote sensing.
• You have experience leading engineering efforts while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
• You also have strong software engineering practices and a background in Python programming, debugging/profiling, version control, and system design.
• You have hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider, such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• You are comfortable with fast-paced execution and rapid iteration startup environment and are excited by the product impact.
• You have a passion for environmental sustainability and a desire to make a meaningful impact on the planet.
