The Marketing Director for Japan is an experienced generalist role driving a variety of marketing strategies and initiatives in the region covering marketing strategy, messaging and positioning, customer advocacy, demand generation (digital and field), pipeline acceleration, brand awareness, partner marketing, public relations and social media throughout Japan. This role reports to the APAC VP of Marketing.

In this role, you will require strong collaboration and relationship-building skills as you will partner with Sales leadership and Partner teams, as well as the wider APAC Marketing team, including Field, Digital and Business Development, plus Global Product Management and Corporate Marketing, to articulate and lead our marketing strategy in Japan.

What You’ll Be Doing:

In this role, the primary responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Driving all marketing strategy and initiatives in the country; including marketing strategy, messaging and positioning, customer advocacy, demand generation (digital and field), pipeline acceleration, brand awareness, partner marketing, public relations and social media throughout Japan.
  • Managing Marketing managers and Marketing executives in the country, which includes performance reviews and career development, and is responsible for managing the marketing budget across Japan.
  • Interfacing with partners, customers, sales and BDRs, corporate marketing, press, analysts and external vendors.
  • Understanding the Genesys product and solution offerings and be able to speak at high level speaking engagements with the corporate or related presentations.
  • Building and rolling out targeted field and digital marketing plans, working closely with regional sales and marketing management and partners, with defined KPI goals of optimizing program performance to ensure pipeline/leads targets are met.
  • Enablement, education and support of our field and channel partners to optimise the return from the relationship.
  • Working closely with customers, regional marketing leads, and the Global Customer Advocacy team to create compelling customer case studies and PR.
  • Analysing data to provide reports and recommendations to drive targeting and segmentation, adjust messaging & positioning in order to increase Genesys market share.
  • Working proactively with the BDR team to meet regional opportunities and pipeline targets.
  • Tracking, measuring and providing weekly progress reports on contribution to pipeline and ROI.
  • Supporting the Japan marketing leaders on ad hoc projects and programs.

We’d Love to Hear from You!

  • Ideally you will have 10-1+ years’ SaaS marketing experience, preferably within the enterprise software industry, with a core focus on Marketing strategy, demand generation, field and digital marketing as well as branding.
  • Strong understanding of Partner routes to market and Partner enablement.
  • Strong organizational skills in a matrix environment.
  • Understanding of marketing trends, tools and frameworks and ability to find creative ways to implement them at a country level.
  • Marketing, Business or Digital/eCommerce degree.
  • Proven experience and success working in multi-cultural environment.
  • Proven ability to meet aggressive timelines and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral and written) and strong presentation skills in Native Japanese as well as fluency in English.
  • Ability to travel as required.
