About you and this role

Dow Consumer Solutions is seeking a highly motivated, strategic, and customer focused individual to fill an open position of a Marketing Manager, located in Tokyo, Japan.

This position will be responsible for driving regional strategy definition, market research, and implementation of a robust growth plan for Dow Consumer Solutions with a focus on the Consumer and Electronics Market. The market needs for silicone solutions is growing in many exciting applications like protective coatings and thermal interface materials for consumer, industrial and microelectronics, cooling fluids for EV and data centers. Silicones are attractive solutions to provide performance and sustainability benefits. This position will be responsible for creating and executing a growth strategy for Consumer Electronics, Industrial Electronics and Consumer Rubber Market Segments in Japan.

Beyond the strategy definition and implementation, this individual will lead the cross-functional Market Management Team (MMT) that will support the development and execution of the regional and marketing plan. To drive growth, this individual will be responsible to collect market and customer insights to build a robust innovation portfolio that positions Dow as a market leader in this segment. Ability to interact with key customer and distributor personnel in order to translate customer needs to create compelling value propositions will be critical to success. Finally, this individual will help shape our go to market strategy to optimally serve the market as well as improve our digital marketing capability to ensure our products are easily found and adopted by customers and stakeholders throughout the value chain that are seeking solutions.

Marketing experience along with technical knowledge is strongly desired. Highly developed communication skills in both Japanese and English are required for engagement with customers, internal R&D/Technical Service and fellow regional marketers and business leaders across Dow.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead regional segment MMT’s to align cross-functional teams
  • Work to understand market sizing, dynamics, competitive intelligence, customer dynamics, customer journey to create an effective plan to grow in that environment.
  • Develop and implement regional market plans including strategy and implementation, profitability and plan for continuous growth.
  • Work cross functionally to initiate, develop, and drive the segment growth pipeline.
  • Lead select Innovation Stage Gate programs for regional as well as global opportunities
  • Drive prioritization of programs and effective resourcing for segment including Sales, Marketing, Communications, and TS&D.
  • Support channel partners to deliver growth target
  • Liaison with other Dow businesses to drive synergy and growth.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering/chemistry, marketing or other business related major.
  • MBA or formal business training/certification
  • 5+ years’ experience in commercial role (sales/marketing)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong preference for experience in Silicone, Electronics, Microelectronics or Semi-Conductor related industries.
  • Strong customer facing experience (Sales, Marketing, TS&D, etc.)
