As a Reporting & Data Analyst, you transform complex data into actionable insights and significant business value. You'll collaborate with product owners to design and deliver scalable, end-to-end BI solutions, including intuitive dashboards and reports.
Your role demands a strong grasp of data structures, flows, processing logic, data engineering principles on cloud platforms. With a 50% business/50% technical mindset, you'll build robust, business-oriented data models, ensuring reliable outputs aligned with the Mercedes-Benz data strategy. You'll also explore the emerging AI-driven analytics to enhance our BI analytical capabilities.
With solid experience in BI/IT projects, ideally within financial services, you'll translate business questions into analytical solutions and communicate compelling insights through effective data storytelling.
【BI Product (Power BI)】
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end Power BI dashboards and analytical products
- Define and standardize business KPIs, metrics, and semantic models
- Deploy and manage solutions in Power BI services (workspaces, apps, datasets) to support scalable, cloud-based consumption
- Leverage AI-enabled features where relevant to enhance analytical and automation value
- Drive continuous improvement of BI development standards, visualization best practices, and user adoption across the organization
【Operational Reporting】
- Maintain, enhance, and support current SSRS reports for operational, financial, and regulatory reporting requirements
- Rationalize/streamline enterprise report inventory by reducing duplicated reports, consolidating overlapping reports, and improving reporting governance across departments
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize query performance and report execution efficiency, and scheduling processes to ensure reliable report delivery
- Manage report user access
【Data Governance】
- Implement and maintain data quality controls, validation checks, and reconciliation processes across departments to improve data accuracy and trust prior to downstream consumption
- Metadata management across Corporate Data Catalog and Databricks Unity Catalog
- Contribute to the establishment of enterprise data standards, governance frameworks, and master data management practices
- Work collaboratively with business/technical teams to improve data stewardship, documentation, and compliance with policies
【Data Engineer & Deputy to Data Engineer】
- Support preparation, transformation, and integration of data pipelines for reporting and analytics solutions
- Assist with ETL development, data modelling, and optimization activities across cloud and on-premise data environments
- Contribute to automation and standardization initiatives that enhance data delivery and reduce manual processing effort
1. Education & Work experience
- Bachelor Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or comparable
- Several years working experience in IT, Finance, Financial Services, or comparable
- Language: Office English (mandatory), Japanese (optional)
2. Technical Knowledge
Leading Data Visualizations (3 years relevant experience)
- Profound experience in data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Write SQL/DAX to query data for viz
- Read Power BI semantic models/Databricks to query cube data for viz
- Use Git to apply code version control, change log
- Experience with MS Azure cloud infrastructure preferred
