Based in Japan and reporting to the T1D Medical Head, you'll work at the intersection of science, strategy, and patient impact, collaborating with local and global teams to advance a truly pioneering treatment area.

Main responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of the Japan Medical Plan for T1D, providing scientific input for medical content and contributing to cross-functional initiatives including regulatory interactions and lifecycle planning.

• Lead and support medical communication activities — including publication planning, congress and symposia participation, and advisory board presentations — to advance scientific exchange with the medical community.

• Build and nurture relationships with key opinion leaders and scientific societies, collecting and sharing medical insights to inform strategy and strengthen Sanofi's presence in the T1D space.

• Plan and execute company-sponsored clinical studies and externally sponsored research collaborations, including post-approval studies and Investigator-Sponsored Studies, to generate meaningful real-world evidence.

• Analyze real-world data in collaboration with internal and external experts to deepen understanding of T1D and support evidence-based decision-making.

• Partner with Medical Science Liaisons and global medical teams to develop field strategies that address the evolving needs of healthcare professionals and patients.

• Ensure all medical activities are conducted with the highest standards of scientific integrity and in full compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.

About you

Experience: Background in medical affairs, R&D, or clinical research within the pharmaceutical industry, including experience in an MSL or Medical Advisor/Medical Manager capacity; prior involvement in clinical trial or study management is a strong advantage.

Technical skills: Strong scientific acumen in a relevant therapeutic area (immunology, endocrinology, or related field); ability to critically analyze and interpret clinical and real-world data; experience in medical writing and publication activities.

Soft skills: Strategic thinking with the ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across functions; strong interpersonal skills with a genuine commitment to serving healthcare professional needs; approachable, adaptable, and a clear communicator.

Education: Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) in a relevant medical or scientific discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Languages: Fluent in Japanese; business-level English (reading and writing) required.
