Monthly from ¥522,095 to ¥626,514
Season from ¥3,654,670 to ¥4,364,330
Plus performance-based incentives

The Role:
The Operations & Logistics Manager - Niseko leads the back-office functions that keep Rhythm Rides' Niseko operation ready for daily delivery. The role owns shared logistics and operational support that sit outside on-snow lesson or guide delivery and outside Guest Services, reservations and guest communication.
This includes backcountry rentals and equipment, vehicles, lift passes, facilities, uniforms, program logistics and local administration. By owning these support functions, the role allows Lessons and Backcountry managers to focus on leading their teams and delivering high-quality guest experiences.
The Operations & Logistics Manager - Niseko is accountable for:
- Reliable back-office support across the Niseko Rides operation
- Safe and efficient backcountry rental and equipment operations
- Vehicles, lift passes, facilities, uniforms and shared resources ready for daily use
- Clear leadership and coordination of the operations support team
- Strong cross-department communication and practical support
- Accurate operational administration and records
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Team Leadership and Daily Coordination
- Lead, roster and support the operations team and set clear daily priorities.
- Provide leadership to the Backcountry Rental & Operations Assistant Manager and ensure the rental and equipment team is appropriately resourced.
- Coordinate support from Japanese Operations & Administration according to operational needs.
- Work with Lessons, Backcountry and Guest Services managers to understand upcoming requirements and prepare resources accordingly.
- Maintain clear procedures, checklists and handovers across shared support functions.
Backcountry Rentals and Equipment
- Own the Backcountry Rentals & Operations Support function and oversee daily delivery through the Assistant Manager.
- Ensure rental fittings, avalanche packs and guide equipment are prepared accurately and on time.
- Ensure radios, satellite communication tools, first-aid, rescue and other guide equipment are checked, maintained and ready for service.
- Maintain oversight of inventory, equipment condition, servicing, maintenance, loss and replacement planning.
- Coordinate equipment and logistics requirements with the Backcountry Manager, Guest Services and guide leadership.
Vehicles, Lift Passes, Facilities and Uniforms
- Manage vehicle readiness, allocation, fuel, snow clearing, overnight storage, servicing and repairs.
- Administer the company breathalyser policy and escalate non-compliance through the appropriate manager and People & Culture process.
- Prepare and distribute operational lift passes and coordinate Niseko lift-pass and armband replacements.
- Manage daily facility readiness, snow clearing, basic upkeep and seasonal set-up and pack-down with the Property team.
- Manage uniform distribution, returns, cleaning, storage and replacement.
Program Logistics and Staff Support
- Coordinate logistics required for Private Lessons, Kids Programs and Backcountry operations, including staff or guest transport when required.
- Deploy Operations Assistants and shared resources according to priorities agreed with the relevant program manager.
- Assign approved non-teaching duties to standby instructors when directed by the relevant program manager and sign them out only when authorised.
- Manage the staff support desk for routine staff enquiries and direct questions to the appropriate manager or functional team.
- Provide flexible cross-department support during peak periods, incidents, staff absences or operational disruptions.
Kids Programs Assistant
- Line-manage the Kids Programs Assistant, including roster coverage, performance support and general operational readiness.
- Coordinate with the Kids Programs Manager and Futures Supervisor so the Assistant is deployed according to program needs.
- Ensure agreed program administration and support tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Kids Programs leadership retains ownership of program delivery, instructor or coach allocation, child-development decisions and parent progression communication.
Administration and Cross-Department Coordination
- Oversee general Niseko operations administration, including reports, data entry, records and document preparation.
- Ensure operational credit-card receipts and location petty-cash records are reconciled and submitted in line with Finance procedures.
- Maintain strong information flow between Lessons, Backcountry, Guest Services and Operations Logistics so daily requirements and changes are understood.
- Promote a collaborative culture where departments support one another when required without transferring ongoing functional ownership.
Role Boundaries
- Lessons and Kids Programs managers own on-snow lesson delivery, instructor or coach allocation and program standards.
- The Backcountry Manager owns guide allocation, daily guide operations and local technical safety decisions.
- Guest Services owns sales, reservations, pre-arrival communication and general guest-service management.
- The Operations Logistics Manager owns backcountry rentals and equipment, shared logistics, facilities, vehicles, lift passes, uniforms and back-office operational support.
- Significant staffing, safety or operational matters outside delegated authority are escalated to the Niseko Operations Manager or relevant functional team.
Key Measures of Success:
- Backcountry rentals, avalanche packs and guide equipment consistently ready for daily operations
- Vehicles, lift passes, facilities, uniforms and shared resources available when needed
- Smooth daily logistics with minimal disruption to lesson and guide delivery
- Operations support teams clearly led and effectively deployed
- Strong information flow and collaboration across Niseko departments
- Accurate operational administration and records
What you need to succeed:
Qualifications and Experience
- Management experience in operations, logistics, tourism, hospitality, snowsports or a comparable seasonal environment.
- Experience leading multiple support functions and coordinating daily operational priorities.
- Experience with rental, technical equipment, vehicles, facilities or inventory management is highly desirable.
- Experience managing staff, procedures, records and operational administration.
- Knowledge of backcountry ski and snowboard equipment and avalanche safety equipment is desirable.
- Valid Japanese or recognised international driver licence; strong winter-driving experience required.
