Partner Manager, Celebrities, Content Operations, TikTok Japan

Our team is dedicated to building and scaling Japan’s entertainment content ecosystem, delivering world-class entertainment experiences to users on TikTok.
We partner closely with leading entertainment companies, rights holders, and creators to drive their success both domestically and globally. Through strategic collaboration, we help shape sustainable growth models that unlock new opportunities across the entertainment value chain.
Working cross-functionally with Global, Product, and Marketing teams, we lead high-impact initiatives such as global anime campaigns and emerging format expansion—including the growth of short-form drama. By bridging Japan’s dynamic entertainment industry with TikTok’s global platform, we play a key role in elevating Japanese entertainment to a worldwide stage.
Responsibilities:
Content Strategy & Celebrities Ecosystem Growth
- Strategy Execution: Plan and execute comprehensive content strategies for celebrities on TikTok, including the formulation of high-potential lead lists, deal models, onboarding planning, account growth strategies, and monetization strategies.
- Market Insights & Ecosystem: Monitor the market landscape of celebrity content across various platforms to identify gaps and opportunities for TikTok-exclusive content, supporting the growth of a sustainable ecosystem for celebrities, talent agencies, and digital studios.
Partner Management & Enablement
- Tailored Partner Acquisition: Develop a deep understanding of each partner agency's priorities, image management philosophies, and internal decision-making structures to tailor TikTok's value proposition; leverage 3rd-party resources (marketing agencies, casting directors) to effectively onboard celebrities.
- Relationship Building: Serve as the day-to-day point of contact, building and maintaining strong working relationships with celebrities and key agencies.
- Education Programs: Plan and execute partner education and enablement programs focused on content quality, platform storytelling, and production optimization().
Deal Execution
- Deal Pipeline Management: Manage multiple complex content deals in parallel while strictly maintaining quality standards and operational consistency.
- Contract & Compliance: Collaborate seamlessly with Legal and Finance teams to ensure all partnership agreements—including talent contracts, content rights, exclusivity clauses, and image rights—meet compliance and strategic requirements.
Performance Analytics
- Strategic Reviews: Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with celebrity partners and talent agencies to evaluate performance and drive strategic alignment.
- Data-Driven Optimization: Track and analyze performance metrics for celebrity and digital original content portfolios, developing and maintaining dashboards and reporting frameworks.
Cross-Functional Operations
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, PR, GR, Legal, and global teams to champion and support celebrity and digital original content initiatives.
- Product Improvement: Collect ongoing partner and market feedback, sharing actionable insights with Product teams to continuously improve tools, features, and workflows.
Minimum Qualification(s)
- Proven track record working with celebrities, talent agencies, and actor/artist management companies, supported by a deep understanding of the Japanese celebrity ecosystem and a history of driving strategic market perception shifts.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, with 5+ years of experience in talent management, content acquisition, or business development within the entertainment or media industries.
- Hands-on experience leading or supporting negotiations for content, talent, and production agreements, with a strong grasp of intellectual property rights, contract structures, and working with legal teams on complex deals.
- Strong analytical mindset with demonstrated experience using data to evaluate content performance, alongside a proven ability to collaborate seamlessly across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Business-level fluency in written and spoken English and Japanese, paired with exceptional presentation skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and highly collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualification(s)
- Master's degree, MBA, or equivalent advanced degree.
- Experience building, launching, or scaling celebrity or MCN-driven content programs at a global platform or major media company.
- Advanced expertise in navigating complex talent contracts, IP rights, and strategic legal frameworking within the entertainment landscape.
