About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Manager to lead our Miyazaki manufacturing site. This role serves as the senior site leader with overall responsibility for safety, quality, delivery, cost, compliance, employee engagement, and operational excellence.

The Plant Manager will play a critical role in driving business performance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and talent development. As part of a global manufacturing network, this leader will collaborate closely with regional and international stakeholders to support strategic business objectives and operational excellence initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity for a manufacturing leader who enjoys balancing day-to-day operational excellence with long-term strategic planning and organizational development.

What You Will Do

Shape Site Strategy

  • Develop and execute site operating strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead capacity planning and capital investment initiatives.
  • Support long-term growth and operational sustainability.

Lead Plant Operations

  • Direct all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production, engineering, maintenance, quality, and EHS.
  • Ensure achievement of key operational objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory, quality, and environmental requirements.
  • Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders across Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, R&D, Commercial, and Manufacturing Operations.
  • Share best practices and contribute to network-wide manufacturing improvements.

Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, cost efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
  • Implement standardized processes and best practices across the site.

Develop and Inspire Teams

  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing leadership team.
  • Drive employee engagement and cultivate a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Lead talent development and succession planning efforts.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of manufacturing, operations, or supply chain experience.
  • Proven leadership experience managing plant operations and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, EHS standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated success driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, or Lean transformation initiatives.
  • Experience managing budgets, operational KPIs, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Language Requirements:

Japanese: fluent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to:

  • Lead plant-wide communications, management meetings, and operational reviews.
  • Communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Engage with local government authorities, regulatory agencies, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare, review, and approve business reports, procedures, and operational documentation in Japanese.

English: business-level verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to:

  • Participate in regional and global leadership meetings.
  • Present plant performance, operational results, and strategic initiatives to international stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively with global cross-functional teams.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and business correspondence in English.
