Rakuten Mobile is driving business growth and creating customer touchpoints in physical channels, with shop operations at its core. Our stores serve as the "front line of customer engagement," offering services across the entire Rakuten Group-including telecommunications, fintech, and e-commerce-and playing a vital role in supporting the brand experience beyond simply acquiring contracts.
As the sole offline channel with direct customer contact, Rakuten Mobile is growing rapidly. Our Product Strategy Group acts as the strategic hub, designing everything from sales strategies to inventory management for "products" such as iPhones, Android devices, and accessories, to maximize sales at this front line.
This role goes beyond simple sales promotion; you will work closely with diverse internal and external stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, and various manufacturers) and be deeply involved in the entire product lifecycle, from initial planning to end-of-life. This is a highly dynamic position where you can personally help shape the future of Rakuten Mobile shops.

For us, Rakuten Mobile shops are the "front line of customer engagement" where the brand experience is created. Our Product Strategy Group, which handles product sales strategies and inventory management for the latest iPhones, Androids, and accessories, is looking for a new team member to support this growth.
You will work with diverse internal and external partners, gaining the rewarding experience of translating customer needs into reality from product planning to sales. A key current challenge is the development of data infrastructure for strategic planning and sales promotion, as well as the automation and efficiency of operations. We are looking for someone to join us in overcoming this transitional period and accelerating the growth of Rakuten Mobile.
Position Details
Planning and Promotion of Sales Initiatives:Analyze market trends and customer needs to lead the planning and execution of attractive device and accessory sales strategies.
- Inventory Strategy - Formulate and execute optimal inventory allocation strategies for Rakuten Mobile shops nationwide to minimize stockouts and overstock, thereby maximizing sales opportunities.
- Data Analysis - Utilize BI tools to conduct in-depth analysis of sales and inventory data to identify potential issues and propose and execute concrete solutions.
- Stakeholder Management - Lead smooth project execution by collaborating closely with internal and external parties (manufacturers, sales, marketing, logistics departments, etc.).
- Operational Efficiency - Support the implementation of new BI tools and promote the automation of routine tasks using AI, Power Automate, and other technologies to improve overall organizational productivity.
Work Environment
The Product Strategy Group within the Shop Operation Section is an elite team of 5 members including the manager. Because we are a small, high-impact team, each individual has significant autonomy and the environment is conducive to turning ideas into reality.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Experience in driving projects or initiatives by communicating with multiple stakeholders, organizing requirements, managing progress, and clarifying key issues.
- Experience in not just reporting analysis results, but proactively identifying issues, formulating improvement actions or decision-making proposals, and presenting them to relevant departments or management.
- Practical experience in data processing and analysis using SQL, BI tools (Tableau, DOMO, etc.), and Excel, with a track record of integrating multiple datasets to extract insights and generate reports.
- Experience in creating presentation materials for management or department heads using PowerPoint or similar tools.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in the operation and maintenance/management of BI tools (Tableau, DOMO, etc.).
- Experience in business process improvement or automation projects utilizing AI, Power Automate, or RPA.
- Practical experience in logistics-related fields, such as inventory management, demand forecasting, or SCM (Supply Chain Management).
- Knowledge and practical experience in statistical approaches to data analysis (regression analysis, multivariate analysis, etc.).
- Experience in project management.
