Department Overview

The Incubation Division is the department within Rakuten responsible for launching, developing, and driving new businesses. You will work in an environment that feels like an internal startup while benefiting from the scale of a major corporation. Our Team launched its new service "Rakuten Anshin Signage" (safety-signage.rakuten.co.jp) on June 4, 2025. We have just started as a business, aiming to establish our presence in the retail media market-a sector expected to see substantial growth. This is the ideal environment for those with a self-driven mindset who want to think independently and push the business forward.

Position:

Position Details

In this position, you will primarily be responsible for driving projects across the following areas.

・Project Management for In-Store Deployment of AI Cameras and Signage Devices (80%)

You will coordinate with external SIers and vendors to manage the entire workflow from design and construction through delivery and verification.

・New Service Planning and Development (20%)

Working with internal and external stakeholders, you will contribute to creating new value in the retail and security sectors.

Work Environment

The team currently consists of 12 members: 1 business lead and 11 direct reports (including 1 contractor).

Team members come from diverse backgrounds, including major telecommunications, food wholesale, manufacturing, finance, consulting, and more.

Mandatory Qualifications:

Any of the following:

・Project management experience in production or construction-type projects (2+ years)

*The following experience is a plus:

・Project management experience for telecommunications equipment or infrastructure

・Project management experience for physical service delivery to retail stores

・Experience in the sales promotion field

Desired Qualifications:

・Knowledge and experience in retail/trade marketing

・Knowledge and experience in sales promotion/advertising

・Experience in the security services industry

・Experience in project management at a consulting firm or similar organization
