Job Description Summary
Responsible setting the regional logistics strategy and end to end accountable for logistics operations for Novartis Radio Ligand Therapy (RLT) products from manufacturing sites to treatment sites in the APAC region. Operations may include ensuring a lean and efficient process from exportation from country of origin, importation at country of destination, to domestic flights and/or final mile deliveries in a timely manner while ensuring compliance with applicable local regulations related to the movement of radioactive drugs.This role will manage logistics 3PLs to provide high level service and act as an escalation point for operational issues and customer complaints for the APAC region. Project management and process improvement as needed will be required as well.
Job Description
Major accountabilities:
- End to end manage the whole logistic process (Importation, Transportation and Disposal) of RLT products and accountable for the on-time performance and customer satisfaction in the APAC region.
- Develop relationships with leadership contacts at carrier organizations to retain and grow their logistics services while maintaining a customer centric approach.
- Work closely with manufacturing sites and logistics partners to map out the lanes for each treatment site including clear cutoff times for contingency plans.
- Maintain close collaboration with global RLT control tower and applicable manufacturing sites to develop processes for the timely monitoring of RLT products.
- Develop processes and manage projects in a cross functional manner related to the improvement of logistics operations.
- Proactively manage customs and trade compliance risks to ensure a smooth importation process for each shipment and avoid unnecessary violations with relevant government authority, maintain a sound relation with local authority.
- Monitor and capture related regulatory update, verify positive/negative impact on Novartis business, report management if impact is significant and come up with proposal if needed.
- Monitor logistic related costs’ accuracy on monthly basis and ensure decisions are made in a cost-conscious manner.
- Implement regular audit on transportation companies, provide training and supporting to both Novartis staff and third-party employee, and ensure all Novartis RLT products are transported in compliance with local regulations.
- Provide new launch product with full support in terms of logistics operations to ensure a smooth market kick-off.
- Manage the disposal of waste materials in accordance with HSE/RLT principles and company’s policies.

mitigate risk of transportation delays which potentially could result in lost sales; mitigate risk of penalties with fines; ensure logistics operations are managed in a cost conscience manner and identify cost savings opportunities without sanctifying reliability and quality; reduce cost and interruption to the business caused by customs or other government authority audits
Impact on the organization:
Ensure compliance with all applicable transportation regulations in the APAC region related to movement of radioactive material.
Education:
Higher education (Degree) in nuclear medicine, pharmacy, medicine, biology, chemistry, etc. or have a professional technical title of junior or above in pharmacy.
Languages:
English – fluent written and spoken
Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in role with experience in operational logistic management role with radioactive drugs or similar time critical operations.
Preferably in Health Care - Radiopharmaceuticals, Consumer Goods, Chemical or other process industry. Knowledge of the local Customs & Environmental Protection Bureau and Health authority requirement to the radioactive drugs importation and supervision.
