The Financial Services Sales team is looking for a Sr Account Executive to lead enterprise sales into Japan’s largest banks and financial institutions. Our team sits at the center of how Japanese finance is being rebuilt – from AI-driven fraud and financial crime detection to risk management and cloud modernization – and we work directly with the executives making those decisions.

This is a role for someone who wants to own the whole picture: the account strategy, the executive relationships, and the number. You’ll lead complex, multi-year deals across some of the most recognized institutions in the country, orchestrate a cross-functional team around them, and shape how SAS shows up in a market that is moving fast right now. If you want your work to change how a bank actually operates – not just add another tool – this is where that happens.

As a Sr Account Executive, you will:

  • Own the revenue number for a portfolio of strategic financial services accounts across new license, cloud/subscription, renewal and services.
  • Lead large, complex sales cycles end to end – multi-business-unit, multi-year, enterprise-wide – from opportunity creation through negotiation and close.
  • Build and execute account plans that identify white space, map the customer’s decision-making and buying process, and create a planned path to growth.
  • Establish and sustain trusted relationships with customer executives, translating their business and regulatory agenda into quantified business cases for SAS.
  • Orchestrate a virtual team of pre-sales, domain experts, consulting, customer success, partners and executives to win and deliver.
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast in Orion/BASE, with transparent reporting on stage, risk and required resources.
  • Drive post-sale adoption, retention and expansion, and develop reference customers.
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.
  • Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability. These are our values and influence everything we do.
Required qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the sales, marketing, or technical support of enterprise software solutions, computer hardware, or telecommunications software/hardware, including direct sales to large enterprise accounts.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, MIS, Statistics or other relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated ownership of an annual revenue target and a track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
  • Experience selling to and building relationships at executive level within large organizations.
  • Business-level Japanese, and English sufficient to operate within a global organization (written required).
Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications. Additional competencies, knowledge and skills
  • Executive relationship building – engages credibly with senior decision makers and influences how they set priorities.
  • Strategic account planning – designs and executes a multi-year growth scenario for an account, not just the next deal.
  • Collaboration and leadership without authority – mobilizes cross-functional teams toward a shared outcome.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience in financial services, including familiarity with banking operations, risk or regulatory requirements (AML, fraud, capital/liquidity).
  • Working understanding of analytics, AI/ML, data management and cloud, and the ability to translate them into business value.
  • Experience co-selling with system integrators, consulting firms or cloud partners.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching less experienced sales colleagues.
