Key responsibilities of the role

To maintain ground-breaking propositions for L&H Solutions and support the next wave of client growth with our SaaS offerings, we are looking for a client solution architect in Japan who is passionate about technology and is driven to pursue excellence in delivering best-in-class InsurTech solutions to the clients.

  • In this role, you will provide technical expertise on regional as well as group initiatives and overlook and drive the various automated underwriting projects from an IT/Technical perspective.
  • As Technical Solution Consultant for clients, you will be the technical point of contact for client implementations and deliver appropriate solution to the client. You work very closely with broad multi-functional global teams consisting of internals, clients, and vendors.
  • You will be part of client facing teams, leading the technical discussions of large and complex implementation projects which are often under time constraints. You will be responsible to formulate the voice of the customer towards our internal technical and product team members to deliver sustainable, scalable and monetizable solutions.
  • You will build technical expertise of Magnum, understand prospect's / client's requirements, and provide necessary inputs during sales process. Additionally, you will also be responsible to lead sustainable tech BAU support for our existing clients and solutions.

L&H Solutions consists of portfolio of enterprise SaaS solutions built by Swiss Re for our insurance clients covering key parts of primary value chain such as, Automated UW, Data Driven UW, Claims management, etc. This includes our flagship product Magnum which is an automated underwriting solution built by Swiss Re and helps 70+ insurers across the globe to automate the risk assessment in their Life and Health insurance transactions.

About you

  • A Bachelor/master's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Solid technical background with prior hands-on experience in a software development using modern web technologies and cloud infrastructure (e.g. Azure).
  • Experience in delivering client enterprise IT system integration / development project and managing client relationships accordingly.
  • Demonstrated competency of various technologies which may include application development languages and packages, client/server systems, security (firewalls/encryption products), web and application servers, and/or network and telephony infrastructure.
  • You can identify, scope, and define the business challenges, and what solution options / analytical models might best address them.
  • Analytical & conceptual skills to understand key business needs and design tailored solutions to solve specific business problems.
  • You feel comfortable presenting and working in a dynamic environment and have a good judgement towards risk and are able to build pragmatic options.
  • Previous exposure to digital business technologies (including automated underwriting, predictive, quantitative analytics, text analytics, mobile products, etc.) is a plus, interest in these and other new technologies is a must.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to explain complex problems with clarity and effectiveness.
