Job Description

Purpose

Enhance customer satisfaction levels while attaining DOS(Days of Supply: important metric to measure how long the inventory on hand), Net inventory, and cash flow targets.

  • Supply to business growth as shared services planning function, which includes all aspects of demand/supply planning and inventory management of finished goods.
  • Reduce Excess&Obsolete(E&O) inventory and optimize inventory.
  • Ensures compliance with all aspects of customer requirements and local, company, and government regulations.

Accountability and Responsibility

  • Achieve DOS and Net Inventory targets set by the assigned Divisions while achieving Revenue and LIFR, Line Item Fill Rate, important metric to measure inventory availability, and On time delivery.
  • Review inventory positions as resolved, and take actions for improvement to ensure attainment of DOS, service level, and Net Inventory targets.
  • Review and assess the currently inventory and demand management processes and improve and/or define processes related to inventory and demand management, and document the procedures as required.
  • Create reports for in-depth analysis as needed about inventory positions and demand forecasts and find opportunities for improvement.

Key Tasks

  • Obtain information on demand changes from Sales/Service team and marketing and hang safety stock level in the ERP or place bulk orders in advance if necessary.
  • Monitor actual trend vs demand forecast and propose override in monthly forecasting process. And re-visit forecast vs actual after placing PO. Do quick actions with procurement team, like order cancellation, if Open PO levels is exceeding proper level.
  • Obtain campaign/New Product Introduction(NPI) and check if such investment is within the important metric target values.
  • If it is necessary to invest in inventory in exceeding important metric targets, clearly indicate the importance and obtain the approval of the relevant people.
  • Review monthly inventory forecast vs actual performance, and report root cause and actions to keep optimal the inventory positions. Especially the final month of the quarter, review inventory level more frequently, ideally daily, and provide landing estimate to the management with clear explanations and counter plan, if necessary.
  • Review and analyze aged inventory and E&O reserve. And work with cross-functional team to identify reduction plans and actions. And achieve E&O expenditure target of the assigned business.
  • Create various reports as assigned related with inventory leveling then review and find opportunity for inventory balancing.
  • Conduct weekly back orders analysis and take actions to reduce any negative impacts.
  • ABC analysis for proper supply planning quarterly.
  • Review MRP setting of the Division/product line in charge and update ERP at least once a quarter.
  • Create SOP/Working instruction if necessary, then modify accordingly.
  • Review and update SOP/Working instructions, in accordance with planning manager’s instruction. Prioritize SOP/WI reproducibility and optimization through the review.  
  • Join related meetings (Sales/Service, Fin, APAC SC etc.) and influence something good to the team.
  • Ensure communications with Sales/Service on risks in supplies, and ask overseas factories / distribution centers to expedite the supply. Also have proper escalation to PO mgr and planning mgr in proper timing.
  • Agree with APAC SC partners, other country SC partners in order to support business each other in the region.
  • Responsible for driving action plans ongoing to achieve expected targets, Revenue, DOS, E&O and On time delivery.

Experience & Capability

  • Possess advanced skills in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SAP or other ERP, BI tools, forecasting tools.
  • Ability to function independently across departments and divisions in a complex global and matrixed organization.
  • Continuous improvement minded and possess the ability to influence and involve others regardless of the position or title.
  • Strong business and financial competence.
  • Strong command of the English language. Good verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • 4-year university degree required. 5 years of planning experience preferred. 5 years of operations/supply chain experience required.
  • S&OP Experience is helpful.
