Job Description:
The Platform Services Leader is responsible for the strategy, delivery, governance, modernization, and operational excellence of enterprise platform services that underpin the organization's technology ecosystem. This role provides leadership across compute, storage, virtualization, database platforms, middleware, backup and recovery, operating systems, automation platforms, and hybrid cloud infrastructure, ensuring that platform services are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with business objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the Platform Services strategy aligned with business and technology goals.
- Define platform architectures, governance frameworks, standards, and performance objectives.
- Lead enterprise platform operations covering servers, OS, virtualization, databases, middleware, storage, and backup.
- Ensure platform availability, reliability, performance, recovery, and 24x7 service delivery.
- Oversee incident, problem, change, capacity, and availability management.
- Drive platform modernization, cloud migration, infrastructure consolidation, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Lead migration from legacy platforms to modern, cloud-enabled, and software-defined environments.
- Collaborate with Cloud and DevOps teams on hybrid infrastructure, platform engineering, and IaC.
- Optimize resources across on-premises, private cloud, and public cloud environments.
- Implement automation, AIOps, analytics, observability, orchestration, and self-healing capabilities.
- Lead capacity planning, performance optimization, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity.
- Ensure platform security, compliance, vulnerability management, access controls, and governance.
- Drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency, resilience, and reduction of technical debt.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 12+ years of experience in infrastructure operations, platform engineering, enterprise technology, or managed services.
- Minimum 7 years of leadership experience managing platform, infrastructure, or data center services.
- Experience leading large-scale platform transformation and modernization initiatives.
- Experience in complex, multi-vendor, enterprise-scale infrastructure environments.
- Experience leading geographically distributed operations and engineering teams.
- Deep expertise in server infrastructure, operating systems, virtualization, storage, backup, databases, and middleware.
- Strong understanding of hybrid cloud platforms and modern infrastructure architectures.
- Experience with platform automation, orchestration, IaC, and DevOps principles.
- Knowledge of enterprise monitoring, observability, analytics, and AIOps platforms.
- Understanding of capacity management, performance engineering, high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional.
- Google Professional Cloud Architect.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent virtualization certification.
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent.
- ITIL Managing Professional or ITIL Strategic Leader.
- TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification.
