You Are

You have spent years solving real engineering problems with simulation software, and you understand that the tool is only as good as the person who knows how to wield it. You are the engineer who gets called when a customer's nonlinear analysis is blowing up at timestep 347, or when their explicit dynamics model is giving results that don't match reality, and you can work backward from the symptoms to find what went wrong.

You do not just answer questions, you teach. When a customer asks how to model something, you explain the why behind the approach so they can apply it to the next ten problems they face. You have used tools like Mechanical, LS-Dyna, or similar CAE platforms enough to know their quirks, their strengths, and where they will trip up an inexperienced user.

Working across languages and time zones does not intimidate you. You can write a clear technical explanation in English and then turn around and discuss the same problem in Japanese without losing precision. You are comfortable on a call with a frustrated customer at 4pm and equally comfortable diving into a defect report or testing a beta release the next morning.

At Synopsys, you will work with customers who are pushing the boundaries of what simulation can do, and you will have the tools, the team, and the technical depth to help them get there.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Support customers using Synopsys Structural products including Workbench Mechanical, LS-Dyna, and APDL to solve real-world engineering challenges in structural analysis, nonlinear mechanics, and explicit dynamics
  • Diagnose complex simulation issues by analyzing customer models, boundary conditions, solver output, and convergence behavior to identify root causes and deliver working solutions
  • Leverage Synopsys AI-based platforms alongside your engineering expertise to accelerate problem resolution and improve customer workflows
  • Create and update technical content including knowledge base articles, workflow guides, and best practice documentation that helps customers and internal teams solve problems faster
  • Build long-term relationships with customers in Japan, becoming a trusted technical advisor who understands their projects, their constraints, and their goals
  • File detailed defect reports when you identify software issues, verify fixes during beta testing cycles, and submit product enhancement requests based on real customer needs
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and global support teams to ensure customer feedback shapes product direction and that critical issues get resolved quickly

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience working with engineering simulation software in a technical or customer-facing capacity
  • Demonstrated expertise using Synopsys Structural software such as Workbench Mechanical or LS-Dyna, or equivalent experience with commercial CAE platforms
  • Strong technical foundation in structural analysis, nonlinear analysis, numerical methods, and explicit dynamics with the ability to apply theory to practical engineering problems
  • Fluency in both English and Japanese, written and spoken, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly in both languages
  • Proven problem-solving ability, you can take a vague customer description, ask the right questions, and work methodically toward a solution
  • Experience in explicit dynamics analysis is a plus, particularly if you have worked on crash simulation, drop testing, or high-speed impact scenarios

  • You are genuinely curious about how things work, whether it is a new solver algorithm, a customer's unusual application, or an AI tool that might speed up your workflow
  • You manage your time well across multiple active cases, knowing when to dig deep and when to escalate or pull in a specialist
  • You write clearly and concisely, your technical notes and documentation are the ones people actually read and reference later
  • You work well with a distributed team, you contribute ideas, help colleagues when they are stuck, and do not wait to be asked when you see something that needs attention

必須学歴・資格・経験

  • 機械工学、化学工学、または関連分野における学士号・修士号・博士号
  • エンジニアリングソフトウェア環境での実務経験 4 年以上
  • Synopsys Structural ソフトウェア(Mechanical、LS-Dyna)の使用経験、または他社商用 CAE ソフトウェアに関する知識
  • 構造解析、非線形解析、数値解析手法、陽解法動解析(Explicit Dynamics)に関する知識
