As a Data Science Manager, you will lead advanced analytics initiatives that directly support commercial strategy and executive decision-making.

Advanced Analytics & AI
- Lead advanced analytics initiatives to solve complex business challenges.
- Develop and apply Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions.
- Identify new opportunities to leverage AI and Data Science across the business.
- Generate meaningful insights from both structured and unstructured data.
- Translate analytical findings into practical business recommendations.
Business Partnership
- Serve as a strategic partner to Commercial and business stakeholders.
- Support business strategy through data-driven decision making.
- Collaborate closely with Data, IT, and Insights & Analytics teams.
- Work with both domestic and international stakeholders across global teams.
- Present insights that influence executive-level decision making.
Leadership & Data-Driven Culture

Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional experience in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, or related fields (or 5+ years after completing a PhD).
- Strong experience with Machine Learning and Predictive Modeling.
- Hands-on experience with data preparation, feature engineering, data integration, and data transformation.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL (R is a plus).
- Experience leading end-to-end Data Science or Analytics projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Business-level Japanese.
- Business-level English with the ability to work in an international environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, or another quantitative discipline.
- Experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry.
- Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP).
- Experience utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Experience working with R.
