You will join our Environment and Health Business Unit

As our new Senior Consultant Health Science, you will be supporting our subject matter experts mainly in the area of agrochemical regulatory approvals in Japan. You will bring the ability to communicate across an interdisciplinary team, engaging with other business and technical professionals, and externally with clients and regulatory agencies. From a regulatory and technical perspective, you will support the preparation of regulatory submissions for a variety of agrochemical related products. A strong customer service ethic and ability to multitask is vital for this role. You will present a positive “can-do” attitude and be a self-starter within a team of dedicated professionals. Reporting to the Principal, Health Sciences, your role is based in Tokyo, Japan and your scope of work might also cover other Asia Pacific countries.

Your key tasks and responsibility will be:

  • Support the execution of Product Stewardship and Safety projects with a focus on Japanese Pesticides and Biorationals
  • Act as team member for interdisciplinary / international regulatory projects
  • Advise clients on existing as well as upcoming regulatory obligations (in the fields of environmental, health & safety-related topics) with the support of the Project Manager
  • Support with the preparation and submission of client dossiers and literature review reports, interaction with respective authorities, study organisation and monitoring of study trials (e.g. efficacy, toxicity, environmental fate, residues)
  • Act as interface between the Japanese client and international Ramboll colleagues
  • Work closely with our international team within the Ramboll Health Science Spearhead
  • Support the Project Manager on other project related tasks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in agriculture, pharmacy, biology, veterinary medicine, chemistry, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years’ industry or consulting experience with plant protection product registration, regulatory affairs for pharmaceuticals, chemicals, or related products
  • Experience in regulatory science
  • Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work streams in a fast-paced environment while maintaining outstanding attention to detail and quality of deliverables
  • Experience/comfort with working in a virtual team with stakeholders across geographies
  • Excellent proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook

Additional Information

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:

  • You are fluent in Japanese and English
  • At least you have the ability to effectively communicate in English in internal meetings and through email correspondence
  • You are a confident communicator and listener and like interacting with people
  • Experience in the agrochemical industry, multinational companies, and/or research institutions
  • Previous experience in working within an international and multicultural organization would be a plus
  • Knowledge in toxicology, ecotoxicology, efficacy testing or study monitoring would be a plus
  • Experience with fertilizer or household chemicals would be a plus
  • Good project management and client communication skills
  • Good time management and organisational capabilities
  • Ability to grasp the big picture
