Department Overview

We are responsible for creating customer touchpoints through real-world channels and driving business growth, with a core focus on Rakuten Mobile shop operations. Our stores are not just places for acquiring contracts; they serve as the "front line of customer interaction," playing a vital role in supporting the brand experience by providing services across the Rakuten Group, including telecommunications, finance, and e-commerce.

Sales Planning Section acts as a core function connecting management and the field, responsible for the visualization and analysis of various KPIs in the Rakuten Mobile shop business and translating them into sales strategies. With the rapid expansion of our store network, there is a growing need to build and advance our data-driven decision-making infrastructure.

The Event Sales Planning Group is responsible for creating customer touchpoints and expanding the business across Rakuten Mobile’s real-world channels (stores and event venues). In this position, you will serve as a growth engine for the business, leading initiatives that directly contribute to revenue expansion.

With the expansion of the Rakuten Mobile shop business, it has become increasingly important to create new customer touchpoints through stores and event venues and to strengthen sales initiatives that directly contribute to revenue growth. We are expanding our team to more strategically drive customer acquisition and sales activities-particularly through workplace-based initiatives, affiliate programs, and events-and to strengthen our organizational capability to continuously improve initiatives based on data analysis.

Position Details

In this role, you will plan and promote events and sales initiatives across Rakuten Mobile’s real-world channels, driving the expansion of customer touchpoints and the maximization of sales.

- Proposing workplace-based and affiliate initiatives for new and existing customers, and conducting onboarding.

- Creating customer touchpoints through events and formulating associated sales plans.

- Identifying issues based on sales data analysis and improving initiatives to resolve them.

- Executing strategic sales approaches toward high-growth segments and companies.

Work Environment

Event Sales Planning Group: 13 members
Breakdown: 2 Assistant Managers, 11 Members

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Practical experience in B2B sales, sales planning, sales promotion planning, event planning, or marketing initiative promotion.

- Experience proactively conducting new business development, proposals to existing clients, or negotiations with alliance partners/business counterparts.

- Experience managing the entire lifecycle of initiatives, from planning and execution to project management, review, and improvement.

- Experience organizing issues based on data (such as sales or traffic results) and implementing improvement measures.

- Ability to independently identify issues and drive initiatives forward by engaging relevant stakeholders, even in a fast-paced environment.

- TOEIC score of 600 or higher

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in planning and executing event planning, sales promotion planning, or marketing initiatives.

- Practical experience in B2B sales (Industry is open, but experience with intangible products or new business development is highly valued).
