Hiring Company: Covestro Japan Ltd.

Main Responsibilities

1. Able to address business challenges and resolve strategic issues effectively; effectively collaborates with different functions such as Business Entities (BEs), Production, and Business Support to achieve company objectives.

2. Establishes safety and compliance guidelines, and coaches and monitors the team as well as business partners to ensure compliance with government regulations and COV Safety and Compliance policies.

3. Leads the development of a distribution network that supports customers in the most cost-effective and efficient manner, with a strong focus on safety and compliance, and monitors Logistics Service Providers to ensure they meet required standards.

4. Collaborates with the regional Credit Management function to ensure appropriate process of assessment of the credit worthiness of potential customers and periodic credit review of existing customers, with the objective of optimizing business performance while minimizing risk.

5. Best practices and risk mitigation - review and update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.

6. Collaborates with the SC&L community to share best practices and implement Global / Regional SC&L strategies. Represents Japan in Regional and Global meetings.

7. Develops, mentors, and leads the Supply Chain team, and drives talent management within the Supply Chain community to support business growth.

8. Supports the Covestro Export Control Officer and is responsible for coordinating export control activities in COV Japan, serving as the first point of contact for all operational issues related to foreign trade law compliance. Implements locally an effective internal control system in accordance with Corporate Directives, including documentation, monitoring, and reporting. Identifies training needs and ensures adequate training for employees affected by export control and related requirements. Monitors local legal requirements and exchanges information on the legal environment with the Global and Regional Export Control Office and the Regional ITCC.

9. Builds an effective communication / coordination platform among plants, business units, APAC Supply Chain Center, and relevant source plants to position Covestro Japan as an export and distribution hub within the APAC region.

10. Represents the Supply Chain Center (SCC) function as a member of the country management team.

8. Ensure customer compliance with respect to the use of Covestro products, which mitigates business risks, and implement mechanisms to reduce complaints or eliminate repeated complaints.

9. Drive solutions for customers by coordinating with supply chain partners and BEs. Monitor the execution of corrective actions to ensure acceptable quality. Establish preventive measures and a learning feedback loop.

10. Ensure timely collection of customer receivables (better working capital) and collection of statutory forms from customers by Credit Management (to reduce tax liabilities).

11. KPI monitoring of Logistics Service Providers – adherence to safety and compliance norms for transportation and warehousing, keeping the company’s reputation away from negative news / media / reputation.

12. Utilize resources in an efficient way and manage recruiting when needed.

13. Provide the framework for CS, LOG and CM Standard Operating Procedures and ensure changes are timely updated in the ISO 9001 database.

14. Represent Japan as Country SC&L Head in the APAC SC&L team and build good interaction across all functions and departments.

15. Demonstrate the company’s values and lead by example.

16. Make sure the FTLC local package is implemented; training and spot checks are conducted and well documented.

Qualification Requirements (Education & Work Experience)

- Degree in Business Management/Administration, Supply Chain, Cost Accounting, International Trade, or a related field, or equivalent qualifications

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business, finance, supply chain, procurement, or customer relationship management

- More than 5 years of leadership experience in a multinational corporation (MNC) or an organization of comparable size
