Our Human Resources department (People Management APAC) within RWE Renewables is looking for a Human Resources Manager Japan. At RWE Renewables Offshore (RWER) you will have a dynamic job where relationship building, hands-on decision making and progression will be an integrate part of your daily work. In the role as Human Resources Manager Japan you will be responsible for the overall local HR support. Your role will be complex and your team will be located within the global functions for Human Resources. The RWER Japan team is expanding and looking for forward thinking professionals with a growth mindset to join a fast-expanding team in a diverse environment, as part of a larger global organization. You will be located in our local office in Tokyo and report functionally to the Head of People Manager APAC within a global functional matrix organization.

Your future role

  • Develop and maintain key HR policies in line with current local best practices and regulatory framework
  • Deliver all day to day HR tasks and become the key local HR support for all HR related processes in Japan
  • Work closely together with HR team located in Europe and APAC and act as interface between the local business and the headquarter
  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are compliant
  • Support the management in the development, design and implementation of the business strategy in Japan and the company
  • Support expatriate management incl. immigration support are part of the recruiting process
  • Plan and conduct orientation of new employees to promote company performance goals
  • Maintain relationships with universities, technical colleges and other external sources including contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services
  • Study and assess benefit needs and trends to establish comprehensive plans, making appropriate recommendations to the global HR team
  • Implement and improve existing benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance
  • Align with external payroll provider to ensure timely & accurate payment of cash compensation, oversee payroll & benefits vendor activities
  • Be responsible for compliance with all labor-related Workers Compensation, Social Security and latest Legislative laws & regulations
  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are compliant

Your profile

  • Fully completed university degree (or equivalent)
  • At least 15 years of hands-on human resource management experience in Japan
  • Familiar with Japanese social security law, labor and employment law and payroll tax regulations
  • High intercultural sensitivity, understanding of European and Japanese business culture
  • Effective communication skills; talking to others to convey information effectively, ability to speak effectively before groups of providers, community leaders or employees of the company
  • Very good analytical and conceptual skills e.g. ability to read, write detailed reports and deliver effective correspondence; keen awareness of details
  • Solution-oriented mindset; display of a highly developed collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Pioneer mindset with an enthusiasm to build a new organization within a global company framework
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and in HR applications and HRIS software.
  • Business Fluent written and spoken Japanese and English language skills
