International Technology Product Manager (Japan)

As part of the Wolters Kluwer Health Clinical Effectiveness team, the International Technical Product Manager role is critical to CE’s business growth in Japan.

In this important role, you will have the opportunity to work within Japan, drawing on your understanding of country-specific healthcare IT management and delivery to help grow the Japanese market. You will work supporting CE’s success in Japan across all CE product lines - clinical embedded and referential information decision-support tools, drug reference information, and patient engagement offerings. The role will span understanding of the target markets and segments to drive Go-To-Market success for optimizing the growth of the CE solution portfolio.

The Product Manager will work closely with other International Product Managers, Product Management and Product Marketing in the USA, as well as regional Sales and Customer Success leadership. Responsibilities include country-specific market research, ideation and development of new product offerings, Go-To-Market Plan definition, execution support for region-specific pricing, product launches, and business case development for country-specific custom offers. The role will be based in Japan.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop data-driven market research and country/region-specific intelligence on:
o Market and regulatory trends
o Market segments and sub-segments, characterizing size, and expected growth
o Customer procurement process and buying behaviors (including willingness to pay)
o The competitive landscape for CE offerings
o Market and customer needs
o Evaluation of healthcare user and buyer personas
o Healthcare workflows, evidenced based medicine, and clinical decision making

• Develop an innovation funnel for Japan. Create new product and feature ideas to support growth within the country.
o Gather market intelligence using tools such as surveys, customer interviews, sales feedback to inform innovation requirements and product development needs
o Understand and break down clinical decision-making processes, and use this to inform new innovation
o Evaluate and document healthcare workflow and software processes to find new problems to solve in the market
o Bring new innovation ideas through concept definition, problem validation, and solution validation stages
o Construct analysis and business cases to advance new product ideas within the company
o Support the introduction of new products and features within the market

• Support Shaping country or region-specific Go-To-Market strategy by adapting CE-level GTM strategy for local market conditions
o Collaborate with sales, product marketing and marketing to shape go-to-market plans.
o Support regional sales teams by providing supporting content such as sales enablement training, regional product training, Webinars, and messaging customization
o Support the yearly Go-To-Market exercises

• Support launching new products and releases, defining product positioning, and ensuring operational readiness
o Collaborate with product marketing and sales to support the development and execution of comprehensive launch plans
o Partner with product management, finance, and pricing teams to develop business cases
o Collaborate with product marketing to develop effective messaging and positioning to serve as content for marketing programs, differentiate CE solutions in the market, and communicate the benefits of CE to multiple buyer types
o Enable the training team to support their development of training to sales and customer success on both new and existing products and markets

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Technology.
• Previous experience in the healthcare software industry is highly desirable.


Required Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in product management
• Experience in strategic market research and bringing new products to market
• Previous experience and ability to manage projects involving cross-functional teams
• Professional international experience in the relevant region/countries.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:
• Experience in the Healthcare IT industry
• Experience in product management is required
• Clinical experience is desired
• Excellent quantitative/analytical skills
• Excellent time management, decision making, and organization skills
• Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills


Travel Requirements:
• Up to 25% travel may be required
• Role will be based in Japan.
