Position Summary
The APAC Finance Senior Manager serves as the senior financial leader for our Aftermarket segment in the Asia‑Pacific region, responsible for driving financial strategy, operational excellence, and business performance across multiple markets. This role partners closely with US‑based Converting Platform leadership to ensure alignment with global objectives while adapting to the unique regulatory, cultural, and commercial dynamics of APAC. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands‑on operator who can scale a fast‑growing, multinational business.
The position reports directly into BW Converting Platform finance leadership and has responsibility for overall APAC aftermarket financial leadership as well as and administrative support for Japan.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Financial Leadership
- Lead all financial operations across APAC, including FP&A, accounting, tax, treasury, and compliance.
- Develop and execute regional financial strategies aligned with global aftermarket strategy.
- Provide financial insights to support market expansion, pricing strategy, and investment decisions.
Business Partnering & Strategy
- Serve as a strategic advisor to regional business leaders and the US headquarters.
- Drive long‑term planning, scenario modeling, and risk assessments.
- Ensure stakeholder collaboration and alignment.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Own the regional budgeting, forecasting, and monthly performance review processes.
- Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting to global finance teams.
- Identify performance gaps and lead corrective action plans.
Governance, Controls & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, local statutory requirements, and internal controls.
- Oversee external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting across APAC jurisdictions.
- Strengthen internal control frameworks and promote financial discipline.
- Maintain the board members and directors listing and all related required documentation for the Japan legal entity, as well as supervise IT staff.
Operational Excellence
- Optimize regional financial processes, systems, and reporting tools.
- Drive working capital improvements, cost optimization, and operational efficiencies.
- Implement global finance initiatives and ensure consistent adoption across APAC markets.
Leadership & Team Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing regional finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with HR to support talent development and succession planning.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 10–15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including regional or multi‑country oversight.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, APAC statutory requirements, and multinational corporate finance.
- Proven experience working with US‑based headquarters or global finance teams.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to navigate complex, fast‑paced, matrixed environments.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead through change.
- Comfortable working across time zones and in virtual, multicultural teams. Ability to support flexible hours to ensure availability to stakeholders and willingness to travel within and outside of region.
- Fluent in English
Preferred Requirements
- MBA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience in aftermarket, manufacturing, consumer goods, or other multinational industries.
- Prior involvement in M&A, market entry, or large‑scale transformation initiatives.
- Fluency in one or more APAC languages is a plus.
A successful APAC Finance Executive will:
