Job Description:
This position takes care of Japanese Customer business development, including support other sales members’ communication towards Japanese customer in their regions or to the headquarter in Japan. As the main contact window to Japanese customers, this position also support production sites’ technical and quality handling towards Japanese customers.
This position reports to Sales Director located in China.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with global GKN PM Sales/Engineering team to develop/maintain business with global Japanese customers.
(example, develop new business with Denso Hungary/China by working with local team).
- Visit local customers and customer outside Japan, visit production plants when it is needed for training or customer audits.
- To work on design discussions, PPAP documentations, quality issues handling and support audits at global GKN sites etc.
- Manage and further develop existing customer accounts.
- Drive proactive acquisition of new business, including new application area researching, new customer developing and new RFQ handling and support through to series production.
- Coordinate closely with Engineering and Production to manage complex customer projects.
- Conduct market‑relevant analyses and reporting.
- Contribute to the development of product group strategies.
- Support the implementation of company‑wide business objectives.
- Conduct routine reports
Required Skills and Education
Required Skills & Education:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3-4 years’ mechanical engineering/commercial experience in automotive industry is needed; PM experience is preferable.
- English capability is needed to communicate with GKN global sites.
- Academic background in engineering, industrial engineering, business administration, or a comparable technical/commercial qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, ideally in the automotive supplier environment.
- Experience in sales and key account management or purchasing.
- Strong business and process acumen.
- High level of coordination, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Hands‑on mentality, agility, and adaptability.
- Strong analytical and empathetic capabilities.
- Good English skills.
- Good Office (Excel/PPT) skills
- Willingness to travel (approx. 50%).
- Willingness to work with global colleagues in different time zone and participate internet meetings sometimes earlier or later than normal working time
