Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Senior Service Engineer to join our client’s Professional Services team. In this embedded role, you will serve as a key technical point of contact for migration, onboarding, and training related to the client’s internal platform, working closely with customers and internal teams.
On a given day, a Senior Service Engineer will:
- Guide customers through migration, onboarding, and training, tailoring solutions to their technical needs and environment.
- Create user guides and deliver training sessions to help users effectively understand and use the platform.
- Build strong customer relationships, understand their technical challenges, and share insights that help them achieve their goals.
- Manage project environments, platform connections and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure reliable platform operation.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to resolve complex issues, improve platform capabilities, and shape best practices.
Requirements
In order to be successful in this role you will need:
- 7+ years of experience in software development, infrastructure engineering, or relevant technical field.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture and core components, with strong hands-on experience designing, deploying, and administering container platforms in enterprise environments.
- Exposure working with managed Kubernetes services and advanced Kubernetes use cases.
- Experience leading or supporting application migrations from traditional infrastructure, virtual machines, or legacy container platforms.
- Strong understanding of migration planning, workload assessment, execution, and post-migration optimization.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize performance across Kubernetes clusters, applications, networking, and storage layers.

Employment Conditions
- Employment Type: Fixed term contract through MTC. This is a contingent worker assignment, so you will remain an MTC employee throughout the engagement.
- Contract Duration: Initial 3-month contract (mid-November 2026 to mid-February 2027), with potential for extension based on business needs and performance.
- Location & Schedule: Tokyo, Japan. Onsite 3 days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely.
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience and skillset (details shared during the interview process).
- Allowance: Commuting Allowance
- Working Hours: 9:00 – 18:00 (1-hour break)
- Holidays; Saturdays, Sundays, and Japanese public holidays ※ Annual paid leave and special leave also provided
- Insurance: Employment insurance, health insurance, employees' pension insurance, workers' accident compensation insurance
- Smoking Policy: No smoking indoors in principle
- This position is open only to candidates who currently reside in Japan. Relocation support and visa sponsorship will not be provided.
