Job Description
Overview:
Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's global consulting organization, helping clients solve strategic business challenges through payments expertise, data-driven insights, and consulting capabilities.
The Director will lead consulting engagements and client relationships with leading financial institutions, merchants, and ecosystem partners in Japan. This role requires strong consulting, problem-solving, project leadership, and business development capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic consulting engagements focused on payments, portfolio growth, customer acquisition, customer engagement, loyalty, digital transformation, and business growth
- Serve as a strategic advisor to major financial institutions and ecosystem partners in Japan, helping clients accelerate growth, strengthen customer value propositions, and drive business transformation
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and provide strategic recommendations to support clients' business objectives.
- Develop data-driven insights and executive-level presentations to address complex business challenges
- Lead cross-functional project teams and ensure successful delivery of consulting engagements with high quality and measurable client impact
- Collaborate closely with Visa account executives and product specialists to identify client needs and develop new consulting opportunities
- Contribute to the growth of Visa Consulting & Analytics by supporting revenue generation, client development, and thought leadership initiatives
- Mentor and coach consultants and managers to strengthen team capabilities and support professional development
- Work collaboratively across Visa functions, including Product, Marketing, Data Science, Risk, Client Services, and Sales teams.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in client-facing consulting roles with at least 5 years of consulting experience
- Proven ability to structure complex business problems and develop actionable recommendations for clients
- Demonstrated experience leading complex client-facing engagements and managing executive stakeholder relationships
- Experience presenting recommendations and influencing decisions at C-level executive and senior management levels
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in a dynamic environment
- Native-level Japanese and business-level English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in strategic consulting, corporate strategy, business transformation, or related advisory roles
- Experience in financial services, payments, banking, fintech, digital commerce, or related industries
- Experience developing growth strategies, product strategies, customer engagement strategies, or loyalty strategies
- Experience leveraging data and analytics to develop business insights and recommendations
- Track record of identifying business opportunities and supporting client or business growth
- Experience mentoring and developing high-performing teams
