Job Responsibilities
- Configure, administer, customize, and support SmartPlant Foundation environments across development, test, UAT, and production
- Translate business and engineering information management requirements into SPF configurations and technical solutions
- Configure SPF schema objects, classes, interfaces, relationships, methods, forms, menus, access control, workflows, and business rules
- Develop and maintain custom solutions using C#, ASP.NET / ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, Windows services, and related .NET technologies
- Design and implement interfaces between SPF and engineering/enterprise applications via supported APIs, web services, file-based, and database integration patterns
- Plan and execute data migration activities including mapping, extraction, transformation, loading, validation, reconciliation, and defect resolution
- Develop data-loading tools, automation utilities, reports, dashboards, and scripts to improve engineering data quality and productivity
- Support publishing and retrieval of engineering documents/data associated with tools such as Smart 3D, Smart P&ID, Smart Instrumentation, and Smart Electrical, where applicable
- Perform incident analysis, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, performance monitoring, and application support for SPF and custom .NET components
- Prepare technical specifications, configuration documents, interface designs, migration plans, test cases, deployment instructions, and support documentation
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, testing, release management, UAT, deployment, and knowledge-transfer activities
- Coordinate with client stakeholders, product vendors, database teams, infrastructure teams, and global delivery teams to meet project commitments
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Hexagon SmartPlant Foundation / SmartPlant Enterprise for Owner Operators or equivalent SPF implementations
- Experience in SPF administration, configuration, schema modeling, workflows, security, document management, and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience in SPF data migration, data loading, validation, reconciliation, and engineering data quality management
- Proficiency in C#, .NET Framework, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, web services, Entity Framework, and LINQ
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, database design, query optimization, and data analysis
- Experience developing integration services, batch utilities, Windows services, scheduled jobs, and automation tools
- Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, XML, and source-control practices
- Experience with Visual Studio, Git or Azure DevOps, CI/CD processes, debugging, logging, and release management
- Understanding of engineering document and tag data used in EPC or owner-operator environments
Soft Skills
- Excellent written, verbal, listening, and client-facing communication skills
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work effectively in onsite-offshore and cross-functional delivery teams
- Ability to manage priorities, document decisions, and drive technical actions to closure
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of overall software engineering or engineering information management experience
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in SmartPlant Foundation configuration, customization, migration, integration, or production support
- Demonstrated experience delivering .NET-based applications or integration solutions in an enterprise environment
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Smart 3D, Smart P&ID, Smart Instrumentation, Smart Electrical, EDMS, or asset information management platforms
- Exposure to cloud services, Power BI, SharePoint, or enterprise integration platforms
- Prior experience in EPC, oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, utilities, infrastructure, or industrial plant projects
- Hexagon SPF training or certification and Microsoft .NET / Azure certifications
- Japanese language capability for relevant client engagements
Required languages: Business level English required, Japanese – Preferred.
