Job Description

Location: Japan or Singapore

The Global Learning & Development (L&D) Lead will develop, execute, and maintain the future L&D strategy and framework in close collaboration with the Global Head of Talent, the Talent COE and regional HR teams.

A global approach to Learning & Development and creation of a global training catalogue will enable Santen’s employees to become ‘future ready’ through skill development, knowledge, and capability building to achieve our MTP and World Vision.

Key initiatives will include, but not limited to, co-creation of a global competency framework or skill foundation that will inform and drive our future learning agenda, skill assessment and/or skill (gap) mapping of employees, learning needs analysis to inform individual career development and selection of learning or training courses, creation of a training catalogue, training vendor selection and management, maintenance of our Learning Management System (LMS) and management of training delivery, if required including in-house training courses in certain regions such as Japan.

As the point of contact and Lead for our global Learning & Development (L&D) agenda, this role is accountable for developing, executing, and maintaining the future L&D strategy and framework with
the following job scope:

  • Learning needs analysis (including interviews) with business leaders
  • Strategy creation, implementation, and process ownership of global L&D framework
  • Creation of global competency framework or skill foundation to drive L&D framework
  • Skill assessment and/or skill mapping support for all employees globally
  • Creation of global training catalogue
  • Support creation of individual career development plans and selection of learning courses
  • Support of training delivery and facilitation, if required in-house training courses in certain regions
  • Vendor selection and management, including maintenance and strategic positioning of LMS
  • Managing budget of future learning and training programs

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree with proven track record as L&D specialist in in-house MNC capacity or consulting firm, with at least 7 years of experience
  • Experience in working for Japanese companies or Japanese clients with cultural awareness for specific domestic learning needs as our biggest employee hub, but also experience of working with or for international employee group such as in Asia, EMEA or China
  • Experience in project management in L&D space with high-level of autonomy
  • Affinity of use for and knowledge of HRIS tools in form of LMS, e-learning providers, record management
  • Strategic thinker and fast adapter to ever-changing internal and external environment
  • Strong time management and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effective with senior leaders and stakeholders globally
  • Excellent MS Office suite skills
