What you will be doing

POSITION SUMMARY:

The holder of this position must fulfil his obligations in such a way that:

  • all tasks in his position are completed in a correct, timely, rapid and cost-efficient manner;
  • all steps are taken in order to achieve the prescribed sales-goals in regards to market- penetration, turnover and profit;
  • the cost-budget, as well as the given operational and scheduled tasks are adhered to;
  • the loyalty to the customer is maintained;
  • all promises made to the customer by the operational department can be kept, and that the customer service department is uniformly working at capacity;
  • a functional pool of mediators is created, which supports sales in the sales-area;
  • the Country Manager is constantly informed about the development of turnover, of the customer base, as well as unusual occurrences in his area of responsibility;
  • the image and the name-recognition of the corporation is strengthened in the region, and that the corporation acquires new customers;
  • his area is comprised of adequately qualified and motivated co-workers.

The holder of this position must care for potential customers in such a way that:

  • prospective customers become customers;
  • our service remains a topic of interest for contacts and potential customers.

The holder of this position must coordinate the cooperation between his area of work with all other areas of the corporation in such a manner that the flow of information is always free of friction, unimpeded, and a holistically positive coordination is assured.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The holder of the position must independently execute the following tasks:

  • researches potential customers and qualified contacts on his own accord;
  • generates the first contact with potential customers and contacts;
  • plans his customer visits and creates a route-plan;
  • builds up his customer base and cares for it;
  • visits his customers as well as potentials and carries out sales-conversations with the goal of obtaining jobs;
  • carries out presentations with customers;
  • follows-up on potential contacts / trade-fair contacts;
  • furthers the development of sales strategies for his sales-area;
  • performs market-analyses and forwards the results to the National Business Development Manager;
  • keeps on eye on the competition and forwards his observations to the National Business Development Manager;
  • decides – in concert with management – about giving special discounts or tariffs to customers;
  • accepts queries from customers and writes offers with the support of Operations / Customer Service;
  • writes visit-reports and forwards these immediately to the National Business Development Manager;
  • draws-up his travel-expense-report and forwards it immediately to the responsible party;
  • maintains sales-statistics and forwards these to the National Business Development Manager;
  • attends sales-meetings as well as training and schooling;
  • advises the National Business Development Manager during the visitation of regional trade-fairs;
  • represents the corporation at trade-fairs and conventions;
  • constantly informs himself regarding the newest developments in the market and new products or services of the own company as well as of the competition.

He/she informs the National Business Development Manager in the following issues:

  • the effect of and resonance to advertising and marketing actions;
  • advertising by the competition;
  • Suggestions, advice on changes, and complaints by the customers;
  • Presentation of the company’s service to customers;
  • Current offers and their chances of success.

Individual tasks:

The holder of the position is obligated to perform, in addition to the above described tasks, individual tasks assigned by his superiors, which are to be seen by their nature as part of his work area, or which arise out of necessity.

Special competences:

The holder of the position has access to all confidential records, which he needs for the execution of his tasks:

  • Customer database
  • Reporting
  • Inter- and Intranet

He/she has the authority, in the performance of his duties, to incur necessary costs for travel and fare.

REPORTS DIRECTLY TO:

The Business Development Executive is subordinate to the National Business Development Manager.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to collaborate and interact effectively with colleagues Excellent interpersonal skills 2 years+ working experience in Sales Fluency in local language and adequate English skills
