Bruker Nano Surfaces and Metrology Division (BNSM) is seeking a Sales Account Manager to drive growth of our scientific instrumentation portfolio in Japan, including AFM, BioAFM, nanoIR, Nanoindentation, WLI, Dektak, Filmtek, and TMT. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies across academia, government research institutes, and industrial R&D customers. This role requires strong technical understanding, customer engagement, and collaboration with application scientists to deliver solutions to complex nanoscale characterization challenges.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Japan Sales Director, the Sales Account Manager is responsible for the following essential functions and major responsibilities:

  • Achieve assigned sales targets through direct sales and channel partners
  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical sales plans for assigned territory
  • Build and maintain a healthy and sustainable sales pipeline
  • Develop relationships with customers including researchers, engineers, and decision-makers
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities while maintaining existing accounts
  • Lead technical sales activities including product demonstrations and sample testing in collaboration with application teams
  • Organize and support marketing activities such as seminars, workshops, and exhibitions
  • Understand market trends, competitive landscape, and research funding environment
  • Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, applications, and service
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM for pipeline management and sales forecasting

Qualifications

To be successsful for this position, you should possess the following:

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in science or engineering (physics, chemistry, materials science, biology, etc.)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales or scientific instrumentation
  • Strong technical understanding and ability to communicate complex concepts
  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English

Preferred:

  • Experience with nanoscale measurement technologies
  • Sales experience in academia and R&D sectors
  • Knowledge in semiconductor, materials science, or life science fields

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Job Location: Japan (Tokyo preferred)
